Remote Desktop printing with TCP/IP printer

Go to the control panel on the remote server. Then go to the printers screen. From there "add a printer". Once there, select "local printer attached to this computer" and make sure to un-check the "automatically detect and install ... " option.

Then click next and select the second option of "create a new port" with the type of port being "standard TCP/IP port"

Enter the IP address of the printer. The name could also be entered, but the IP address would be better. Leave the port name as the default which will populate as you enter the IP address.

Once through there, go through the process of adding the drivers just as you've done before. The screen to do this will pop up automaticall, though it may take a moment. You might be able to just select the printer drivers from the list. But if you have the drivers saved on your server, it is best to click "have disk" and manually install the drivers.

Cant configre printer sharing via web on win server 2003

Yes is possible. Use Routing and Remote Access facility from Windows 2003 server to create a VPN Server. Create a VPN connection to Windows server, and thus you get an IP address from windows 2003 server and you can use printer.

How to set up a network with 7 computers using a server with microsoft server 2003

Hi,
You must need a router or a switch to connect each of your terminals to your server(Lan or Wifi), if you already install MS server software it will be easy, you must need to install client protocol in your terminals when plug to your swith MS software automatically detects and apply and "ip" address, this permit you to share files /printers or detect any other device in your switch. I recomend to use 10/100/1000 gigabit switch.
Thanks

How to enable ICS service

Are you running Windows Server 2000?

If so - this is a well known problem with 2000.

When you have a server running Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) or Dynamic DNS (DDNS), the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service may not function correctly or may cause some services to stop working. In addition, various error messages may be displayed.

To resolve this issue, do not run the ICS service on a DHCP or DDNS server. NAT (which is installed using routing protocols in the Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) snap-in) works correctly if you do not enable the DNS Proxy service or the DHCP allocator.

Constant error messages from hp deskjet2400

From the forum this is in, I will assume that you are running Win2k3EE on your laptop. Your issue might be a compatability issue with the print drivers. HP is notorious for making bad print drivers (ever since their aquisition of Compaq...before that, they did rock-solid work IMHO). For this printer, you may want to 1) uninstall the printer and use the Windows printer install wizard, as opposed to the HP installer, or 2) see if HP does offer a Server 2003 specific driver. HP commonly includes a bunch of "junk" in their Deskjet print drivers because those printers are targeted to individual home users who will use XP or Vista. Hope this helps...I know it isn't much to go on...good luck!

Hey deepak,

Yes, you can change password in 2003 server without any cd.

The thing that manages all the information about Passwords, User Accounts, Printers, And providing permission to all clients that are present on ur network, is "Active Direcory Service"

You must install Active directory to use it's funtionality.

to install active directory-

Go to start -> Run
then type "dcpromo"

Follow the wizard as per your network domain description and requirements.

Restart your computer.

Go to start -> Administrative tools -> and select Active directory users and computers.

In Active directory user and computer snap-in
Expand ur server and click Users.

You will be now able to see different accounts available on ur computer.

Select and right click Administrator and select change password or create password.
