Have tried all sorts - will not scan. says it cannot read (computer) or find scanner (I think that's what it says). I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times, still says there is an error in the scanning field. Everything else works perfectly. I really need to use the scanner for my assignments for Uni. can you please help.

Re: Will not scan
This was on the Brother web site..
Title: I cannot scan after installing the scanner driver using Windows®/ Mac OS® 8.x-9.x.
Please follow the instructions below
Turn off your machine, disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable to your computer.
Start "Device Selector" by double clicking "Device Selector.app" in //Library/Printers/Brother/Utilities/Device Selector folder, or by clicking " Model" on the upper-left corner of the Brother Control Center 2.0 and selecting "other".
Select USB as the connection type. Your machine name will appear on the list. Select your machine and click OK
Thanks very much for your quick reply. I actually worked out some how to do it by getting to the 'scan sight' on computer called 'page manager' and scanning through that avenue - it takes quite a bit of time as the computer goes really slowing through each process- however at least I can scan. Thanks very much for your help. I still cannot scan from operating from the MFC itself (pushing the scan button and start) but the other way will be fine. I reinstalled the MFC disc also and noticed that on this mac (new to me) I hadn't stalled that part of the programme. So I'm happy now.

What you need to do is get some cleaning solvent from a Computer Store and clean the class. If this does not correct the problem then try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. It sounds like your screen may just be dirty. If you can print it and then scan it that is very perculiar. Try this and let us know if that fixes the problem.
