Hi ,
The error relates to a problem with the water level sensor.
I was lucky to have 2 machines , 1 working and 1 with E9. I swapped the 'faulty' sensor assembly with a working one and guess what......E9 still showed. This was after I trimmed all vacuum lines by about 10mm and re fitted them. So it was not an air leak. I put the 'faulty' unit in the working machine and it worked fine with no error.

I tested the volage on the back of the connector and the 5volt was present.....weird I thought and a shudder or computer board replacement cost went through me.

After checking the connector to the sensor ( 3 pin molex type plastic ) I noticed the bottom brown wire spring loaded pin to be 'loose', which turned out to be broken away. Upon trimming the brown cable some corrosion showed but only at that one pin. So I guess some kind of poor connection, electrolosis, vibration problem ate away the metal of the springloaded prong.
Ideally replace connector with new and trim cable back about 30mm. Or solder direct onto the sensor with a low heat soldering iron and insulate with water proof heatshrink. .

Information supplied as a guide only and to be used at own risk.

To get to the sensor, remove lid ( pull away plastic pin at rhs hinge then lift away), unscrew 2 screws at the back of machine holding in the cover with the hot and cold inputs ( pull up from back and pry the front forward and up, as it is clipped in ) the sensor is at the lhs back.

good luck

You can read up on it, its a pressure sensor,, check the connection around pressure sensor or replace it, if you can't call a repair man.

My NEC NW 652 washing machine is showing an E9 fault. When I hit the power button the E9 message appears?

Sounds like the water level pressure sensor is not working. The code (E9) means the switch is open.

You'll need to replace the pressure switch. Check the manual for the repair procedures.

Hi I have an NEC NW 892 and when I plug it in there is no indication of any power getting to the machine Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou Dr Bob

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but with such a 'basic' fault it is virtually impossible for anybody on this forum to remotely guess what is wrong with your washer.
It could be internal wiring/plugs sockets, control panel switches and/or control PCB.
I fear that your only real option is a service call as the engineer will have the right equipment to safely diagnose what is wrong.
Sorry again and good luck,
John C

NEC NW 892 Errror E9

This error is related to the pressure sensor

check connections or replce pressure sensor

Check at the water source end of the hose and make sure the filter is not occluded. Both hot and cold. more likely the cold side as the hot water may disolve the particles more easily.

If all else seems good you will have to replace the sensor

E9 means the waterlevel sensor is defective or the pipe connected to it is faulty.
