Even when i turn my phone on and off and erase some locked messages the new message icon wont disappear. theres got to be a way to remove it. the new message icon shows at the top with or without a new message. how do i fix that?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

I suspect there is a message in your Messages folder, which gets system messages. You may have it hidden. This folder is a different folder than your account folder. Un-hide it, remove the message, and then hide it again.
You were saying something about removing service books. Don't do that.
I am going to have to side on the No side. Some phones have a small limited memory to store these messages, so when that space runs out, the system removes the last text to make room for new ones. I had a friend with a Moto Q on Verizon (CDMA = No SIM) and it was her biggest complaint.
My advice is to erase all the messages you dont want as you get them in, that way this wont happen.
Also, backup the phone, you can find the utilities online. Verizon does offer a backup service in their cloud for your address book. I know you use Boost, which is owned by Sprint (not verizon as you indicated). Boost uses the Nextel technology of Sprint which is iDen. That is closely related to GSM.
Net net...call your service provider that is your only option. I am sorry.
What you need to do is go through your outbox and find any messages with a small lock symbol on the icon to the left. This lock symbol is in the lower right hand corner of the message icon on the left.
Now when you?ve found any messages with this lock symbol on press the menu button (Its directly above the directional controls.) This brings up a menu with options for the message selected somewhere in there is ?unlock? option press that and your message will be unlocked meaning you can delete it. There may be more than one locked message so check and see if any others have the lock symbol if so unlock it and check for more if not press the menu button whilst in the outbox and select cleanup messages hopefully that should clear the messages.
Note that the phone freezing may just be because of shear numbers and lack of capacity. If it does freeze just leave it for a while and hopefully it?ll just return to normal
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I had the same problem. I checked the browser messages and sure enough the phone co had sent me something out. I am so relieved. I knew I could find a solution on the internet!! :-)
