Checking NVRAM.. My SL-KT600-L has recently decided to hand at 'Checking NVRAM..' This happens only on the first cold start. After depowering and starting again, it starts normally.

    Thanks for your reply

I took out all 3 RAM sticks and all the PC cards and put them back in again. Still the same. First cold boot - stops at 'Checking NVRAM'. Switch off and on again and it works.

I reseated everything that could be reseated, but it still hangs at 'Checking NVRAM..' on the first cold boot.

Try reseating your ram and video card. could be that you have a bad connection somewhere on a socket or port. and once everything warms up the contact becomes better. if that doesnt work reply to this and i'll keep my gears turning

hmmmmmmmmm. have you remounted the mobo lately? Try replaceing the coin cell on your bios and check your settings within the bios regarding memory testing. I have a soyo p4vtp that has a similar issue that is in my shop right now. and bad bios was causeing the testing in the begining to mess up here and there. you might need to upgrade your bios. maybe you can just disable the test in the p.o.s.t. all together through the bios. besides thati am out of suggestions

I miss my suond driver soltek sl-kt600-c1 please help me

Unfortunately the manufacturer of your motherboard, Soltek, went out of business a few years ago so their support website no longer exists.

Searching around Ithink the on board audio chip is VIA VT1616 18-bit 6-channel codec and this is the only Windows XP driver I could find:

Give it a try, If it doesn't work I'd suggest you hunt around the web more to pinpoint your audio chip type and then try and find appropriate drivers for your operating system.

If this has helped then please leave me a rating.

Checking Nvram

You could have had a corrupted update. Do you have the CD that came with the computer? There is a BIOS restore utility on it. Download the 1st BIOS version from the website and see if you get the same results.

Soltek sl-k8trpro939, error message BIOS not Loaded,

To clear cmos you'll need to remove the cmos battery from the motherboard for about 5-10 seconds then replace. You need your motherboard disk in order to load the bios. If you do not have this disk then you will need to go to the board manufacturer's website & download the bios. Follow the directions they have at the site to make a bootable disk & then boot from this disk. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

One Beep after Checking NVRAM...Update OK

The Computer generates 1 beep. to state that the computer has set itself up properly, without errors. Depending on the bios manufacturer. i.e Pheonix or AMI et,c.
As long as your system is running fine with no crashes or errors.
Then this seems perfectly normal.
