Window explorer is not working on my grandsons lap top when he turns it on the message comes up windows explorer not working

-Try to install from recovery disk your all system back
-If you dont have recovery disk try to restore your system to couple of days back or a month
-When you get the error make sure to look at details
and see the file name mentioned. If the file name is "mpegsplitter.ax", this is because u have installed codecs, could be either k-lite codec or some other. U just need to delete this file, either by going to win xp or opening command prompt in task manager under file, select new task and type cmd. The file will be located in program files, k-lite codec, filters. Just delete this file and restart.

Windows Explorer sends continuously error messages

Turning off thumbnails will probably stop you getting that error

DO:
Open Control Panel > Folder Options > Always show Icons, Never Thumbnails

However, this isn't actually fixing the problem.

Do you have Nero installed by any chance?

If so try:
Open Computer > System Drive > Program files > Common Files > Ahead > DSfilter.
Rename "NeroVideoProc.ax" to "1NeroVideoProc.ax"
Also rename "NeVideo.ax" to "1NeVideo.ax"

And then reboot.
