Basically a friend showed the power 4 extreme option by right clicking on the battery icon at the bottem right of the screen and then setting in the quiet office section to say no to hide desktop icons. Now its no longer a problem!
To add the hard disk icon back onto your desktop, first click the "Finder" button in the dock. It is the dark and light smily face icon at the end of the dock.
Next, click the "Finder" menu item at the top of the screen and then "Preferences". In the "Finder Preferences" window that opens, click the "General" button. From there you can select what system items appear on your desktop. You can click "Hard disks" to re-add the hard disk icon.
Hi Asif, Did you install there something new on it? Maybe could help to push the F8 key after POST (just after the DELL logo disappeared and before Windows logo would appear) and choose to start with last configuration which worked. If this doesn't help then after F8 choose to start in Safe Mode and uninstall the failing application after you log into Windows.
hit ctrl-alt-del at the same time.
windows task manager will appear.
click on file menu and select new task (run)
type CMD and click OK
type the word explorer and hit the enter key
your desktop should appear again.
Please rate this solution as solved if you are happy with it otherwise ask again :)
