Creda w/d electrical outlets

I purchased a W/D stacked unit and found that someone had spliced both unit's electrical cords together. I'm trying to find out how to make this safe? Purchase the correct prongs and converter box? Can't find any info!! Help

Hi I just purchased the Creda front load washer and dryer at an estate sale. Afterwards I realized that the three prongs on the outlet plug are like this example -- --- can you tell me where I can find the proper adapter?

1 Answer

You should never splice two appliances togather for obvious reasons. If you are familiar with wiring, my suggestion would be to replace the cord ends your self. You most likely can get what you need at any appliance specific store (smaller store), and you can ask questions to the salesman if you need to and most of these guys have a good knowledge of what to do. But if you are comfortable and you know what the voltages are and the pin configuration to the outlet designated, the ends can be purchased at a Lowes or Home Depot. Hope this helps, and good luck.

We moved our Kenmore stacked washer/dryer from downstairs to upstairs - now it will not work. any ideas?

If the dryer didn't get banged around or damaged when you moved it, it sounds like it might be a power issue. Is the outlet where the dryer plugged into controlled by a switch? If so, make sure the switch is on. Is it on an electrical circuit with any other large devices (air conditioning unit, refrigerator, etc.)? If so, the dryer probably isn't getting enough power. Try plugging it in somewhere else, on a different circuit (using an extension cord to test it, if you don't want to move it until you're sure) to see if that makes a difference.

Electrical Plug

I guess the washer and dryer are somewhere that someone can get in to use them without permission. Where do you and they get electrical power from?If they are connected through circuit breakers then just throw the breakers when you're not using the machines.
