Sorry mate, this model does not have any front panel buttons. I think you are referring to the f28atc.

  • bowlandpirie Apr 29, 2008

I have poor east west correction on a fenice fc28ac monitor

  • bowlandpirie Apr 29, 2008

That's correct. This model has no external controls and no infrared remote function.

  • bowlandpirie Apr 29, 2008

There is no discolouring as is typical of faulty degaussing cct. I have changed many suspect electrolytic caps with no joy. Transistors tok. Have not tried TDA8145, will advise you when I get one.

  • bowlandpirie Apr 29, 2008

I have a problem with the serial number. The label indicated by Fenice Has no serial number, and the serial number on the rear of the case does not compute with Fenice. Oh ****

  • bowlandpirie Sep 30, 2008

I contacted fenice technical support and they were very helpful.

Hi,

Often, east-west problem could be corrected by degaussing. I am not familiar with your monitor/model but on some other monitors, degaussing could be activated either by a feature button / menu or by simply powering the monitor off/on. Of course, it is also possible to use an external degaussing coil to force correct any discoloration. Often, metal objects near the sides of the monitor can likewise compound any of the discoloration. If you suspect that it is an internal fault, then possibly it is a capacitor that has degraded, leaked or blistered or worst an active component such as a TDA8145 IC which performs two (2) functions, both for east-west and pin-cushion circuits.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a dell Optiplex gx260. I bought a nice big Acer 23"monitor 1920x1030 but the max resolution in the graphics properties is 1280x1024 so I get a stretched screen or a poor resolution

jenny_beech

The resolution 1920x1030 is not a standard resolution. Also at the time this computer came out you did not have monitors this big ether. So you most likely will not be able to get 1920x1030 on this computer. However if you install the drivers for the monitor on the computer you should atleast get the right aspect ratio so you have poor resolution. You should have a CD with the drivers on in it. The llink below will show you haw to install them maually in Windows 7 if the drivers are not in an installer. Let me know if you need the steps for Windows XP.

Pc powers on but no display(light on board and fan is working)

Could be a loose Display Card... pretty rare that would happen if the System has been working fine. An event would have to occur to knock it out.
The PC should boot to the BIOS with everything unplugged in the System. Try to re-seat the Display Card first if not, unplug the Hard Drive to see if that is causing the issue. If you have an On-Board Video... pull the Display Card to see if you get a Boot.
Pull Modem as well...
If it were Memory you would get a beep. Wouldn't hurt to clean and re-seat Mem as well while your in there. Dust does cause errors because of poor connections. :)

Try replacing your monitor cable. Also make sure to tighten the screws that hold it to connector on the computetr and the monitor.:)
