Stopped on the rinse cycle an give the 5 ud message.

The Sud (5ud) error code indicates a suds lock. This is normally caused by excessive detergent causing too much suds. It can also be caused by not using HE (High Efficiency) detergent. Overloading the washer can also cause this problem. Try running a cycle with no clothes and no detergent added. See if suds emerge in the washer even though no detergent was added.

Tried to wash a load of clothes and keep getting an error code "sub". The machine will not complete a cycle, won't rinse, etc. What does the error code mean and how can I fix it?

SUDS LOCK (OVERDOSE OF DETERGENT
DETECTED DURING THE WASH CYCLE)

The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the
current draw on the drive motor. If “Sud” is displayed a potential Suds
Lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load,
excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

Possible Causes / Procedure
■ If too much detergent was used:
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump,
pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle.

What's going on when the letters "sud" appear?

"SUD" is a SUDS detect error. This can be an indication of a restriction somewhere in the drainage system, a failed drain pump, you are using too much detergent, or you are using the wrong type of detergent. The following link explains the error in more detail and how to correct:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608687-sud_error

If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code can be generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced. If a new drain pump is required, you can purchase one at any of the following websites: searspartsdirect.com pcappliancerepair.com appliancepartspros.com repairclinic.com If you need instructions on how to replace a drain pump, the following link explains: http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574350-replacing_the_drain_pump_in_a_front_load
If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Sud error message

Hello, The most common cause of the 'sud' alarm is too much detergent, or the detergent that is being used is creating too much suds. It works and alarms off of the motor current draw. The causes and cures listed below are pretty much in order of their commonality; try the first item before the second one, etc. If you can pin the fault on the detergent, try using the least amount of detergent that you can while still getting your clothes clean. With a HE washer, more isn't always better. Read on:

The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If “Sud” is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

Potential Causes

• If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/ Spin cycle then a Normal cycle without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check / Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects
• Check Drain Pump
• Check Wire Harness connections to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Check the Pressure Switch
• Check CCU

Replace failed component.

Hope that this helps. Try the empty loads first to clear the detergent. This is the easiest fix.
Best regards, --W/D--

Problem with LG washing machine Model number wm1480fhd. The machine drum reluctantly turns and in about a few minutes it displays error code LE (flashing).

LE error code: This indicates a locked motor condition. Please check the following conditions. Large loads of laundry can put a strain on the motor causing the LE error code. Try removing some clothing and restart. Excessive suds can cause the LE error code. Make sure the customer is using an HE (High Efficiency) detergent. They should decrease the amount of detergent until the machine washes without suds. A few bubbles can be expected. Areas that have soft water will usually need to use less detergent. If you suspect that excessive suds are the problem, let the machine stand for 30 min (motor cool down) and then run a rinse and spin cycle before restarting the load. If these directions are followed and the code persists, the machine will likely need service. .
