Pink LInes/Blob on screen

Hopefully, someone can diagnose this problem for me (see pic).

    i have this same problem but i also have the screen on bothsides turnig blue before the blob appered

Let other Hitachi TV owners know about the Class Action Lawsuit against Hitachi regarding the defective optical light engine. They need to call the Law Firm in Dallas Texas, HORP & B, that you mentioned is handling the case and talk to Victor @ 1-877-308-7900. They are taking documentation and cases regarding this suit and people that feel like they have been treated unfairly wherein Hitachi denied sending them a new optical light engine @ n/c need to call and state their case.

VARIAN'S SOLUTION STILL WORKS EVERYONE!!! I have had my tv for over 4 years now and it is way out of warranty. But just yesterday I took Varian's advice just incase it might work and it did!! Granted that you must be strong in your tone that you are not happy with this problem because I had to talk to 3 consecutive superiors. Then one put me on hold and came back soon after saying that Hitachi will ship the engine light that I needed to the repair company at no cost to me. So even if they say, "sorry, we can't do anything for you because your tv is out of warranty", DON'T FALL FOR IT. Just ask for their superior and continue that until they give you the part. THANKS VARIAN!!!

More than likely, you need a new light engine. It's not the same as the lamp. It's a $1500 part that until recently, Hitachi was covering for free regardless if you were still under warranty or not. They've stopped taking care of their customers due to the number of us that have had this same problem.

You can give it a shot and call their customer relations department at 800-654-7013 and see what they tell you. They replaced our light engine back in November and if you reference Hitachi 50v500 on this website, you will see all of the upset folks that are now being told "too bad".

Wish I had better news. The only way to know for sure that the problem is the light engine is to call a certified Hitachi dealer in your area or the store you bought the set from and have them come out. Wish I had better news!

Pink lines


This sounds like a videochip ( hardware ) problem. If it persist go to an Apple service provider, hopes they will solve it and hopefully the Macbook is still under their guarantee time.

some CRT had a color bar test mode.
so turn off the test switch.

if its a mushy blob of colors? a blob like of stated 3 colors

Black blob on bottom rh of screen,vertical & horizontal lines


The blob is a phisically damaged part of the LCD screen. Unfixable, the screen must be replaced and it will be expensive.

Either someone got too close to it with a magnet or you have an output problem.

can you post a pic of the screen? Its hard to diagnose that type of problem with out seeing as it could be a deflection or a signal issue.

Patch of purple "scribble" lines on corner of screen


Sounds like the same problem that I just started having. Although my scribble lines are yellow. Personally I'm thinking that one of the three LCD panels has cracked internally and will need to be replaced.
