How to check a magnatron in a microwave Microwave runs but does not heat

It is due to missing HT supply to magnatron or faulty magnatron,you can also check by replacing HT diode for the same.

Hi, it sounds like the magnatron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnatron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnatron, they replace the whole oven.

There is a possiblity that the circuit that provides power to the magnatron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it appart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.............

You may need a new microwave..however, the diode may be defective or the magnatron tube may need replacing,,The magnatron tube is only warranted for 5 years so it may be used up as the model is (10years)fairly old.

The cooling fans run for a time after the magnatrons have stopped, The magnatrons are the heating components so I dont think you are in any danger as the microwave doors are double locked so the magnatrons cant run once the door is open

There is a device in your microwave oven called a magnatron. This device generates the microwaves which heats up the food. If all is working but there is no heat, it means the magnatron is faulty or perhaps part of the magnatron circuitry. Check all fuses and then have the magnatron tested by a qualified technician if all fuses are okay.

This is due to the magnatron failing (this is the part of oven that cooks the food!) This is the most likely cause of y isssour oven not heating the food!

Magnatron needs replaced for oven to work again!

This is a sure sign that the Magnatron has burnt out and needs replaced ( This is what cooks the food!) Replace magnatron in oven unit and all should work well!

The two possible causes are a faulty door switch and a bad magnatron. You can pull the top cover off of the unit and check all of the door switches (there are 2-6 of them all on a common rail, me normally closed)). If the door switches all check out, replace the magnatron, diodes, and capacitor

use a high voltage probe to check high voltage, if present replace the magnatron if no HV replace the high voltage board this is the board that has the heavy wires to the magnatron
