Thanks, but, no thanks...With all the garbage on these self repair sights, its mind boggleing and very frustrating. You end up just wasting your time and effort when you need help then, not the next day or so.
I went to my local Lowes store where the associate gladly showed me what I needed and took it apart and showed me exactly what to do. It works great.
Hurrah for Lowes!!!

Hello cbrhonda125 - Try resetting the unit dryer by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. Restart unit and if it proves to be ineffective, there are multiple possible causes; faulty power cord, house wiring, defective control board, thermal limiter or door switch. This is something that a professional would need to properly diagnose.
The late model top loading GE washer is much different than it's original models that were so much more dependable than these newer ones are. To access the innards you must forst remove the front panel. Older models had the top pop up first but these newer models have the top bolted down. To get the top up you must first remove the front panel by using downward force on the top between the tiop and the front panel. It is not easy even for eperienced techs but cuss it a minute and it will come off. Once it is off you will notice the washer has an elecetric pump. Strings and junk get into this pump. It is easy to take apart and cleanup. The tub is suspended on 4 rods and the lateral movement is kept in check by 4 rubber cord mounted to the top called bungies. The motor and tranny can easily be accessed by removing the tub from the washer. After disconecting the power cable and pump the tub lifts out. Not all GE washers use the same motor or the same transmission method. Some do not even have a tranny. I have some GE washer service manuals.
Hello the advice about removing the top of the washer and bolting the dryer to it is exactly what to do.Under the washer top is built in brackets to do that.Every front load Frigidiare washer leave the factory pre-equipped to stack the dryer to it by removing the top and bolting the dryer to it
First you should remove the hoses and clean the screens in the ends of the hose, some hoses have screens in both ends. While the hoses are removed look inside the water inlet valve there should be a screen in there also remove and clean the screen out. Some screens will not be removable so you will need to clean in place or remove the water inlet valve. If all is clear you will need to check the solenoidson the water inlet valve for power. If the solenoid has power when put ina fill cycle and no water eneters your washer you will need to replace the water inlet valve. Most water inlet valves must be replaced as a unit, so if one solenoid fails you replace the hole valve assembly. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/topwaterinletvideo.html that will walk you thru the testing procedure. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. If you need help disassembling there are also videos of disassembling most styles. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models will be available. All parts come with installation instructions.
with the washer disconnected, remove the top panel. then remove the front panel until you see the motor where the cord used to go out. You will probably have to do some soldring if the cord can't be reattached. check where the power supply comes from and start from there. you will need to remove the old piece of cord and resolder the other part by splicing the cord and removing a piece of the rubber insulation. And resolder back on power supply.
