Look under "Volume" "sounds" "Audio" and "Hardware"
I see it on my computer. If you place the "volume icon" in the task bar, you can control the volume of the computer.

Bedroom a/c will not come on. thermostat lights come on but there isn,t a click on sound of any kind. I don,t know if the units 110 system has a problem or it is the thermostats a problem.

1- not sure why you posted this in an automotive forum but will try anyway.

Set thermostat down to as low as it will go and wait for 30 minutes to see if it is working. If this thermostat is ELECTRONIC you have to tell the thermostat you want this temperature. I.e. set it then tell it to hold that setting. Also previous comments were for a full sized home unit.
If this is one of them cheapy units you buy at wal mart or someplace like that then toss the unit and go buy a new one. Units are repairable but the cost to repair usually exceeds cost to replace. Sorry but that's the way it is in our disposable society now.

Hi I am having a bit of a problem... A few days ago I kept getting this message saying I needed to update my flash player. So I said yes, my computer went nuts! I started to panic so I tried setting it...

1) When you switch on the laptop repeatedly press the Delete key, this will take you into what is called the bios settings.
2) It is here that you can set which hard disk to boot into.
3) Navigate to a heading that says Boot disk priority (Sorry I can't directly show you as most bios's are different but all at least use the same naming).
4) At the boot disk priority setting set the device that has your operating system to the first priority.
5)Then save and exit the setup.

You laptop should boot into Windows now. If this doesn't help then it either means you operating system has been magically wiped off the drive or that you have made a mistake in the bios settings. Comment on this solution if you need further help and I'll see if I can help.

Replaced harddrive and dvdroom wont recognize in bios

Goto bios menu. And change the setting on hard drive and cdrom. It could be it still set in the old configuration. Try to set it in auto detect. Then save the setting. Then goto bios once again to check if the settings doesn't change. Restart again and wait if something you didn't expect still happens.

Leave a comment if this solve cd rom detection.

R3000 Compacq laptop wont boot up

Can you please give me full details on what the problem is, the BSOD, does it appear after the boot is finished and loading the OS?
Does the OS start and then get the BSOD, ETC.
If You have the original install cd, enter your bios and at BOOT DEVICES [OR BOOT SETTINGS] make sure that the first device to boot from is your cd/dvd etc, Put The Cd of the OS in the cd/rom and restart the machine, it will hopefully start the instalation of windows do not tell the program to install a fresh copy, but rather use the R for repair.
If that does not work or you still have problems it sounds like it's time for a new instal of windows, the BSOD [Blue Screen Of Death] pops up when files get damaged, if you overclock without checking everything voltages, fans, TEMPERATURE of CPU etc.
Also can you please tell me how long ago the system was activated, and what if anything did you do or were working on when you got this BSOD.
What the OS you are using is can help also, and is it sp1? sp2? sp3? for win XP even vista is up to SP1 already for a supposed new os from ms.

Speech recognation tab is missing

Do  you want to use speech recognition......
there are softwares in the market for that kind of control. anyway the use of microphone does not require the speech  recognition tab
what you should chech is the sound and audio driver and check whether you have the driver  fully installed  check under the voice tab there.
if this help pls tell otherwise please post further comments on your problem.
happy to help.

The server doesn't boot and when I accessed the container configuration utility - clicked manage containers; my RAID 5 (136.7GB) container is dead and has 2 missing members out of 3. The 3rd one is 68.3GB...

You can download the drivers here:
However, due to the many configurations available in the PowerEdge server 4600, there is no way for me to tell you exactly which controller driver to use. You will probably have to make a boot disk to feed the driver to windows 2000.
Comment back with specific controller model numbers, and maybe I can direct you to the correct download.
