Question about LG TROMM WM2688H 4.0 cu.ft. Front Loading SteamWasher
Hi, we own a LG steam washer. The problem is. Water is left in the soap, bleach, softener drawer. Not just a few drops. I mean like the soap tub is full. I sometimes also notice that the bleach, or softener is not fully removed. I cleaned the pump filter, and the filters on the inlet lines. Any Ideas? Thanks John
Hi john, There is a blue cover that i am suspecting you are missing from the softener/bleach dispenser. It fits over the two tubes in the dispenser and it siphons the water out. It is part number 22002266. Also the machine has a water filled balance ring. It is normal to hear sounds of water when the tub is turned. If you can see water in the spinner its a different story.

SOURCE: Fabric Softener Won't Dispense
The fabric softener dispenser is notorious for clogging. Liquid fabric softener is essentially a liquid form of wax. After a period of time it begins to gunk up the inside of the fabric softener dispenser. If you remove the dispenser drawer and look into the cavity, there should be a series of holes in the upper part of the compartment where water sprays into all the dispenser trays. These holes get gunked up and clogged and water will not dispense properly. As a result, the washer goes through a complete cycle, but the dispenser stays full. If this is the case, you can take some cotton swabs and/or toothpicks and clean these holes real good. It may be a bit meticulous, but it should take care of the problem. Post back and let me know if this helps.

The water dispenser compartment is connected to a hose. Disconnect the hose where it attaches to the tub. You will find a gray mushroom valve, remove this completely or you can just cut back the rubber that covers the stem halve way. What is happening is the valve is getting stuck in the up postion, and causing the water to poor out the front. You should also be running a hot wash every so often to clean out the unit.

You are probably using too much soap and softner. You only need about 1 Tablespoon of each for a full load with a front load machine. Run it with nothing it in except bleach. If you see bubbles inside that means there's left over soap in the tub. Keep running it empty (with bleach) until you don't see bubbles anymore then start using less soap and softner.

This problem happened to us too, fortunately it's quite easy to repair. The problem may lie with the water inlet solenoid (rear of machine, top left under the top cover). The cold water inlet to condense the steam may not be working correctly and the steam comes out of the detergent drawer. Replace this solenoid (bank of three on the water inlet) and this should solve your problem.

This type of issues usually occur when the washer is unable
to drain water completely, you can run your washer at its hottest temperature
setting with 2 cups of vinegar inside the unit. After this take off the bottom
front panel and clean it completely, also clean the drain hose and drain pump
filter, the bleach marks should disappear after doing all this. Hope this
helps...please post back for further assistance.
