Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

Printer cord the part of the cable that goes into the printer won't fit. i am using a universal printer cable, and it seems to be too big. a friend told me that all printers use the same end pieces, but that there are smaller ones for mpv players, camera's, etc. it is a pretty small printer, so do i need to pick up a small one?

Pixma ip1600 won't turn on. No power cord just a cord from printer to computer. I unpluged the entire system and waited 15 minutes and it still won't power up. Any suggestions?

You need the power cord which has a polarized plug on one end. The other end (a figure 8 like shape) will fit into the printer. See http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0900005347/01/ip1600esi_us.pdf . Amazon and other sites have replacement power cords for Canon inkjets and inkjet multifunction printers. One source: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-ip1600-ip6600d-ip6700d-Printer/dp/B003XT2LKC .

I hope this helps.

It won"t print ,error oxc18a0106

Hope this helps.

Solution:
Step one: Reset the printer
Press the On button to turn off the printer.
Unplug the power cord and universal serial bus (USB) cable from the back of the printer.
Wait 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the printer.
Press the On button to turn the printer on.
If Ink system failure does not display, the issue is resolved; reconnect the USB cable and resume using the printer.
If the previous steps have not cleared the message, continue to the next step.

Step two: Download and install firmware update
Go to the product support page to download the update.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...

Click Software & driver downloads.

Click on the appropriate operating system link.

Click on the Recommended update to fix long power-on cycle and ink system failures link and follow the instructions to download the file.

After downloading is complete, disconnect all other USB devices from the PC. Make sure the product is powered ON and plugged into the USB port.

With the printer directly connected to the PC, click the downloaded file FirmwareEnable_Release.EXE.

Click Open/Run.

Click OK at the Update successful window. The error should have been cleared from the printer display.

NEED A REPLACEMETN POWER CABLE FOR LEXMARK 640 COLOR JET PRINTER

If that is a T640 printer, it uses a standard computer power cord.
Any one will work, but if you can get a right angle plug on the printer end, it will look and fit better.
NOTE! If you get a right angle plug, make sure it bends the correct way (the plug only goes into the printer one way, and if the plug bends the wrong way it won't fit).

Brand new brother HL-2140 get service call error (all lights flashing for more than 10 minutes). First time to setup. Don't know how to proceed.

You should have a manual with your new printer, please read it before doing anything with your printer. I'll try my best to show you how to set it up properly for the first time. Make sure to plug the right cable at the right place. There should be 2 basic cable for your printer to work properly; the power cord and the USB cord. Power cord is thicker than the USB cord (black). One end goes to the printer and the other to the power outlet. The USB cable is the data cable of your printer (white/transparent). One end should go to the printer and the other to the PC. First, plug the other end of the USB cable to the printer and the other end to the PC. Next, plug in the power cable to the printer going to the power outlet. Press the power button and you can now use the CD that came with the printer to install the driver. If the lights still persist, then check the toner and the tray. It should be properly fitted inside. Also check the paper, there could be a paper stuck inside.
Hope this helps . . .

It will work with any standard power cable, a PC power cable will be just fine, just check the connector to fit properly.

Got a printer from ebay dont know how to set it up

You need a USB cable to printer. The USB end is about 3/8" by 1/8" (flat rectangle), the other end fits a port on the printer.

Cant find usb cord to fit my Epson NX400 inkjet printer

HI!

There are universal cords to buy, the important is that you know the Voltage and the Ampere so you get the right one. To get the right Voltage and Amphre look in your manual.
You can find and order a universal cord from the ner or find one in a good electrinic shop

Good luck

My usb cable dosent match the port in the back of 5300

Usb cables are universal, the only reason it may not match is if the MAN. sent the printer with it's own cable. That would not seem to be a Canon thing to do if it were a Dell then yes.
Also, try this the USB cable will only fit in one way, try turning it the other way and see if it fits. the silver end part has a line down the middle that part should be in the down position.

I'm not sure if I have the correct cord or if I have it pluged into the correct port.

It is either a usb "A" connector which is the squarish side of the usb cable and the flatter "B" connector is the side that goes into your computer's usb jack. Some printers, like yours also still use a parallel port which is a Centronics big, wide rectangular connector that connects to the printer side and the other end is a DB25 parallel connector than goes to the parallel DB25 printer jack on your computer. You must have at least one of those cables but you only use one or the other. The usb will be configured to a usb local printer port or the parallel will use the LPT1 port. HP.com will provide you with a quick install brochure with pictures for you to see. post back if you need more help! Steve Medley

Probably broke a solder point. Need to take in for repair, or find a friend who is an electrician.

Note: Needs to use low heat solder.
