My Maytag Neptune has the same problem. When I start the wash warm water will run in for ten seconds, then it will turn to extremely hot and stay hot. I usually wash on warm and rinse on cold. When I put it on the cold selection, it works. But not on warm. This has happened since day 1, I called service rep. out and he told me that this is how the machine was suppose to work. That there was nothing wrong with it.
