Bought this LG unit (LWHD7000HR) summer of 2010 and it worked fine - used very rarely. Did not use heat in winter either. Went to turn it on this summer and it does not cool. Fan operates but compressor...

Unplug the a/c and check the control panel of your a/c. Unscrew the control panel to expose the wires and terminal lugs.Check for lose wires or terminal lugs or defects from the compressor capacitor. If all are OK try adjusting the thermostat switch to make the contacts work. If the capacitor is damage replace it and replace any damage terminal lug. If the compressor still does not work, check the overload and the compressor resistance. If overload is open, replace it and check compressor amperage. If the compressor amperage is high, you have to replace the compressor, vacuum, and recharge freon.

Our window AC/heat unit fan only buzzes when turned on- no matter whether you turn on fan only or heat or cool mode.

so the fan does not spin and blow air? it could be a stick broken fan try free spinning it make sure its turned of. if fan spins freely its probably your start capacitor which is not to expensive.

My LG 7000 BTU Heat / Cool Window Air Conditioner does not cool and the fan speed F1 will not work. Fan runs on F2. The heat works fine. Any suggestions?

You have a control board issue. You can get a new control board by Google searching the make and the model of the unit. There are several sites that sell them

LG Ductless Mini Split System LAN125hv: Heat pump doesn't run.

First check your circuit breaker or fuse that supplies power to the outside unit. It's probably separate from the inside unit. Then try to turn unit on. If the fan and compressor just make a humming sound then turn it off and check the capacitor if you have a multimeter. You can also look at it and see if the top looks expanded. That's a good sign its bad, but not all bad one's look expanded. Tomorrow I will have access to an LG service manual and can let you know what the code means. Sorry I can't get it sooner. Let me know what you find.

I HAVE MISLAID REMOTE CONTROL INSTRUCTIONS TO CHANGE FACILITY REQUIRED IE COOL, OR HEAT

Hi,

You can download the owners manual; here is the link for it.

http://www.generalmanual.com/Air-Conditioners/LG-LA121CNP-Art-Cool-Air-Conditioner.htm

when you get to the page scroll down and you will see Download Now and under that "Owners Manual" just click on it.

I hope it helps.

LG ductless no AC

I may not be of much help but I may be able to guide you into some diagnosos. If there is a communication problem between the inside and outside unit, both on the inside and outside units a colored LED will bling 5 times then pause for 3 seconds. The 33 and 44 codes are confusing to me because I have never seen this. Try resetting the outside unit with no call for heat or cool from the inside unit. After about 20 seconds, restore power to the outside unit. Go in and turn on the remote and make sure you lower the cool setting more than degrees cooler than the room temp. After 3 minutes the outside unit should turn on. If you get an error code of either 1, 2 or 5 blinks document it for the technician. If you continue to get your 33 and 44, you have a bad control board. If all else fails, press and hold the button located on the lower left side of the art unit and hold for about 5 seconds. If it still no longer works, now you will need the help of someone who knows these units.
