Question about Computers & Internet

4 Answers

I recently bought a Centro. AT&T moved my sim card from my old phone with all of my information, addresses, and phone numbers. Then I "synched" with the Palm material on my computer. This created quite a mess on my addresses and phone numbers. Since the information in the computer (from my old Palm)is complete and accurate, were to "synch" the information in the computer to the phone, will I that over-write the jumble that exists in the phone now? If so please tell me how to synch from the computer and then go back to synching from the handheld phone. AS you see, I am not too savvy about these things. I would therefore want your advice as to the best thing to do, and were I to download from the computer to the phone, how I get back to defaulting synching from the phone to the computer. I will be ever grateful if you were to help me. Leonard Luck 561-487-3844 luckleon@bellsouth.net

The AT&T store is closed for the night. It is presently 8:35 P.M. here. I will call them in the morning and try to get the model number.

    Try this though

Here is some general Config info, and migh help if you are familiar with GSM.

    • AT&T MOBILE SETTINGS:
    Access point (APN) Settings:

    Access Point Name = Media.net

    APN = wap.cingular

    Authentication Type = PAP

User Name = WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (yes in caps)

Password = CINGULAR1 (yes in caps)

    DNS (leave it blank)

    CSD (leave it blank

    Linger Time = 180

    Proxy Settings:

    Proxy Name = Media.net

    Proxy Address = 066.209.011.032

    Access Point = Media.net

    Home = http://device.home

    Port Number = 80

    Authentication Type = HTTP-BASIC

User Name = WAP@CINGULAR.COM (yes in caps)

Password = CINGULAR1 (yes in caps)

(This phone is not for novice users. It requires insight into
operational usage of GSM networks and may require tier 3 support from
your mobile phone service provider on how to configure the phone’s
internet browser to work with your GSM network. The user manual does
not cover this information because it is specific to T-Mobile and
AT&T network service. If you are not prepared to spend several
hours a day for a few days to learn the operational details of this
sophisticated device, then this phone is not for you.)

I want to copy address from my phone to my sim card. Thanks

Sorry to break it to you, but the iPhone can not copy any information to the internal SIM card. The SIM in the iPhone can only program your phone with it's phone number. You can copy addresses and phone numbers from a sim to the iPhone, but not the other way around.

Need to unlock phone as sim free nokia 6500 after 5 tries

Once SIM gets blocked, phone starts asking PUK code to enter. If you again enter wrong code for three times, SIM gets completely blocked. You have to walk into your service provider outlet to get a replacement SIM card.
PUK code is a SIM specific code assigned by your service provider. No way you can guess & enter it. So, when it asks for the PUK code, don’t do anything, get the PUK code from your service provider. You may call to customer care using any other mobile phone which uses the same service provider. They will ask some details about you to make sure you are the owner of the SIM card. Questions might include your billing address, email ID, numbers you recently called or messaged etc. They might even ask you number printed on the SIM card, so be prepared with all details before calling them. Once you get the PUK code, enter it into the phone & your phone will return to normal.

I need to unlock my sim card ask me puk code

The PUK comes with the SIM card - its an individual number, so no one at FixYa can give it to you.
However, if you provide proof of purchase to your phone service provider (T-Mobile?), they can unblock your SIM or provide you with a new one. With a new SIM you'll keep your current phone number but will loose any address book data you stored in the SIM.

SIM cards are usually interchangeable but the last time I heard T-Mobile uses a non-removable internal board instead of a SIM. Good luck

Contact Number

Hi, You can import phone data from a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card to the address book application on your BlackBerry smartphone.
Contacts in the address book can be saved to the SIM card individually. You cannot import data from the address book to the SIM card.
To import a single contact, complete the following steps:
1)On the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen, open the Address Book.
2) Display the menu and select SIM Phone Book. The SIM phone book is loaded.
3) Select the contact you want to import, then select Add to Address Book.
4) In the New Address screen, add any additional information.
Import all contacts, complete the following steps:
1) On the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen, open the Address Book.
2) Display the menu and select SIM Phone Book. The SIM phone book is loaded.
3) Display the menu and select Copy All To Address Book.
4) Go back to the Address Book and make sure all the entries are displayed.
After adding information to ddress book you can able to veiw contact list, I hope this information will be helpfull.
