Timer doesn't shut down dryer machine

I have a commercial Kenmore dryer. Dryer keeps on running. Is there something wrong with the timer.

Junior

I have a 90 series Kenmore dryer. The dryer still works but the timer won't advance. I have to do it manually. It still heats ok but is a pain to have to remember to check on. Just wondering if the timer unit is reasonable to replace and if it is something that I can do myself? I would hate to have to sink a bunch of $$$ in it. Thanks.

The timer is easy to change, check how much it is first, mine was around $100.

Have a kenmore series 70 dryer. Won't shut off

Yes it deffinetley sounds like you may have a timer issue, if your timer stops and the dryer is running, or if the timer keeps going around and around this will be the problem, however there are thermostats inside the dryer and if you have it set on a HEAT and not a TIMED setting the thermostats won't advance the timer because they havent been set.Hope this helps

Thanks.

THE TIMER HAS A SMALL DRIVE MOTOR THAT TURNS THE TIMER AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS FOR DIFFERENT CYCLES AND VARIES FROM BRAND TO BRAND BUT EITHER WAY YOU MUST REPLACE THE TIMER , EXPENSIVE FIX IF THE DRYER IS WORTH IT THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM

Kenmore 80 series- wont shut off

it sounds like the timer is bad; expensive
also, the only way to get out something that fell into the blower box it to unplug the dryer and reach into the exhaust hole and try to reach it from there and if that fails then you have to take apart the machine.
