7 red blinks

TV turned off during the night (I fell asleep) and I awoke in the middle of the night to the power light blinking red 7 times in succession over and over again. Do you know what that means?

I replaced the two badly swollen capacitors that were in the D3V3 circuit. The picture that mkinn posted shows that the capacitors that I replaced. They are directly centered in his picture. The caps that I replaced were 3300 Microfarad 10VDC. Radioshack does not sell the replacement capacitor but they do sell a 2200 Microfarad 35VDC Axial and a 1000 Microfarad 35VDC Axial. The two capacitors in parallel add up to one 3300 Microfarad capacitor. It took some effort but I was able to parallel the two capacitors using some jumper lead and heat shrink. I ran the TV last night. In the past it would not work after being shut off overnight. It worked this morning. Thanks mkinn.

Bad caps on SMPS board. Replace the SMPS and get a 1 yr. warranty on the new board. Otherwise try replacing these caps: http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o229/garafrax/TV%20Repair/HPIM1458.jpg and

Is the light blinking 7 times on front of TV ? If u take the back cover of the TV off you should see two leds on the bottom right of power supply turn on when u push the power button. When the TV go into error protection on the upper left of power supply you should see. A blinking green light. Please inform me of the error it flashes and ill will be able to help further. ( Serveral possiblilties it could be from audio, bad power, and faulty Y-main.)

Sony KV28FX60U wont turn on led flashes 7 times

Hello
  1. Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.

Try not to fall asleep on the remote again. LOL :}
SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your device does not respond to the remote control after trying all codes
listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for
your code.
NOTE: Before performing a code search for a DVD player or a VCR, turn on the device and
insert the required media.
For example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. On the remote control, press TV once.
2. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light) blinks twice,
then release SET.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1.The LED will blink twice.
4. Aim the remote control at the TV and slowly alternate
between pressing POWER and TV. Stop when the TV turns off
(after pressing POWER). If the device does not have a Power
key, you can substitute another function, such as digits 0 ~ 9 ,
CH, or PLAY).
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from
its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code
first.
5. To lock in the code, press and release SET.The LED will
blink twice.
6. To search for the codes of your other devices, repeat steps
1 through 5, but substitute the appropriate device key for
the device you are searching for.
here is the maual for your remote:
