Do you have a wireless router running and have the wireless printer and scanner running off of the router? Also, what kind of wireless connection are you using for the printer/scanner?

Setting up wireless printers can be such a hassle!
The quickest solution is to let the router sync the mac address itself, don't worry about the details of it all. Easiest way is to start wired, before you go wireless.
When setting up the printer to work with that wireless router, hook your printer up directly to the router/computer the router is connected to. This will allow for the printer/router to recognize each other and establish a connection. Then, when you use a wireless connection (wireless on laptop/ on printer also), they will recognize each other and you'll be able to connect.
This is much less of a hassle than trying to set up wirelessly.
Best of luck!

COMPUTER WILL NOT RECOGN wireless printer

The wireless key you enter is verified by the router, not your computer. Most of the times mistyping the key is the error. Zero instead of an capital O, small 'l" instead of the number 1etc.

Go into your router where the wireless key is displayed, copy the key (CTRL+A, CTRL+C) and paste it into a textdocument (notepad). Save this txt file on a USB stick and plug the stick into your laptop. Copy and paste from there.
If the computer you are connectiong to your router is the same as the one that need the wireless key, just copy and paste the key directly in the appropriate field.

If this doesn't work or if you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

I'm confused, you said usb printer and this is a router question. Your computer should recognize the printer if you hooked it up. What OS are you using?

Wireless hookup

192.168.0.1 in your browser will take you to the router set up, you may have to enable printer sharing as well, but you can assign a key there or have it assign one.
