Remove the lower front gill and clean the evaporator clean the dust on the vents of the exchanger so there is good air flow through the exchanger. also clean the dust from the back of the exchanger. use a vacuum with a soft brush to do this you don't want to bend the vents of the exchanger.

  • Anonymous Apr 29, 2008

actually, it may be quite simple..there is a tray under neath those to collect excess water..take a peek under the unit, to see if maybe it's just overflowing.

Hi, I have an a GE Profile Model TPX24PPDCC fridge that came with the home I purchased in 2006. I believe the fridge is much older. I've been having problems with the water dispenser where water will...

Yes there is a way to disconnect the water line. Pull the Fridge out from the wall. The electrical power chord should be on the back side as well as the 1/4" water line. You need to locate a valve and shut off the supply water. Then you can disconnect the line with wrenches. It is located near the bottom.

I have an older GE Profile, the doors are side by side. Freezer on the left and fridge on right. How do I unclog the drain so water stops leaking on floor at same time every night?

2 things..
1. you have a clog in the line. if you do it has to be blown out with compressed air.
2. or your line has ice in it..you will have to defrost.

blowing the line first maybe the way togo

I have a ge Profile side by side refrig model TPX24PR or BR or BI or SI. When we call for water or the ice maker calls for water, I can hear a hissing sound coming from the front right corner and then...

That hose actually ran Through the floor of your refrigerator on your model. so the leak is most likely under the floor of the fridge in the line coming from the water reseviour to the outlet.

GE Profile leaking onto floor

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section behind the cover underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water) Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

I have a side by side GE refrigerator and the water dispenser is leaking quite a bit. It looks like is leaks where the water is dispensed.

Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

HOW TO FIX A LEAKING REFRIGERATOR OR FREEZER

GE Profile TPX24...water leaking from under freezer side...water dispenser works fine, but ice maker not working properly. What could be the problem...and how do I fix it?! Thanks

i had the same issue twice. 2 suggestions 1) Remove the front grill at the bottom and you will see a plastic water line. Inspect it to see if it is leaking. Turn on the water dispenser when you are looking at the line. 2) pull out the refrigerator and remove the lower panel. Follow the plastic water lines to a solenoid valve and inspect the lines when you activate the water dispenser. water may leak from where the lines go into the solenoid value. if may be a simple fix like cutting the ends off the lines and reinserting into the solenoid valve.
