Question about Computers & Internet

4 Answers

I have been embroidering on a Husqvarna Viking Designer SE sewing machine, often downloading designs from my Sony computer via a USB connection. Sometimes the two machines don't want to communicate but I change USB ports, turn one or both of the machines on and off, or walk away and come back the next day. This is a frustrating and inefficient way to opperate. For one week now none of the old ways work. Can you please direct me? Thanks, Anne

This is the first time I have used this type of service and I mean no offense but the make and model of my sewing machine (Husqvarna Viking model Designer SE)are given in the first sentence of my request. The Sony computer runs on WindowsXP, Home Edition, version 2002, Intel (R), Pentium(R) 4CPU 3.00GHz 2.99GHz, 0.99GB of RAM. I hope this added information helps.
    Thanks,
    Anne

I'm going to clean the USB ports as you suggested and will be back shortly.
    Thanks

Thank you for your kind words and courtesy.
As suggested I went to the Husqvarna Viking web site you suggested. While following it's directions there came a notice that while my machine is registered there is some apparent error in the system. There is no way to findout the particulars untill my inquirey is answered. I hope that will be soon and will let you know the outcome.
    Thanks,
    Anne

Hello,

There is no fault on the sewing machine as i examine of what you have been said. The only faulty is the usb port connecting to computer.

This was caused by damage connection cable, or the port is also damage, but if sometimes this will communicate to each other, something wrong with the installation of the software that let the machine communicate to the hardware. did you try unistalling the software/driver and restart the computer and then reinstall it again? Also try to scan the computer system with a potent antivirus this because virus can cause inefficient connectivity.

pls tell me what happen i will give more solution on it.

best, melnavz

Annie..each sewing machine manufacturer has a label or tag on the product. It has a special serial number or part number, that's needed to answer your question..can you check for that please..

If this problem persists there is an upgrade on the take up lever that has a plastic clip that holds the thread in better. Check with your dealer.

USB drive does not regularly read the USB flash

I have a Designer I USB that suddenly started not reading the usb stick that came with the machine. I was terrified that my machine was going bad, but I always start with the cheapest solution first. I bought a new usb stick, loaded the designs from the old one into my software then loaded everything on the new usb stick. My machine reads it every time so far. I replaced the usb stick about 3 months ago and have not had another problem since. I don't know if this is your problem, but usb sticks can go bad and since they are so cheap, I would try this first.

Have a Rose Husqvarna sewing machine and just purchased a Designer SE. Purchased a Rose reader writer for my cards and want to put them on the computer to use with my Designer. Can not find any...

If you bought your SE from a dealer they will be able to transfer those designs for you. If not, you need the Husqvarna Viking software so you can "read" the designs from your rose cards into your computer, then you will be able to send them to your USB stick for the SE.

The software really unlocks the potential for that machine. The first module of the software is about $400, comes with about 100 fonts and many designs and abilities to alter the text you want to sew. If you go up to the $900 option, you can cut designs apart and save different aspects of the design by themselves and also get an automatic digitizing option that works well. Husqvarna's web site shows their software in detail.

Dongle issue

The Designer SE software does not use a dongle. If you are attempting a "Smart Update" on the Designer SE and it asks if you use a dongle, just say no and the update on the machine will run.
If you have 3D or 4D software, it uses the dongle and it will be USB. Download the latest driver for your software from the Husqvarna Viking website. The link is through the homepage at Husqvarnaviking.com/us . Click links on the left side of the screen for 4D Software, Help & Updates, and Other Useful Software at the bottom of the page. This will have the latest 3D driver. 4D will require the latest update to the software and a firmware upgrade to the dongle. Run Smart Update on the software and then get the firmware update that is directly below the 3D HASP driver on the Other Useful Software page.
