Tuning AWA television with no remote?

Universal remotes don't do all the functions that a manufacturer remote do not for remotes in Australia
If you use a set top box tuner the TV will become the monitor and the box will become the tuner and use one of the rear or side video inputs and bypass the internal tuner and just programme the stb remote to set the TV volume to the desired level
The above link may have the remote you want but as I am in the UK the server blocks me

You should be able to get OTA (over the air broadcast) just make sure you have an antenna plugged in and that the tuner is set to AIR.

Setting the Tuner Mode
If you are using a device that is connected to the RF input, such
as an external antenna or cable TV connection, you must set the
tuner mode.
1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is
2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the
Settings icon and press OK. The Settings menu is displayed.
3. Highlight Tuner and press OK. The Tuner Mode menu is
4. Highlight Antenna or Cable and press OK.
5. Press the EXIT button on the remote.
Scanning for Channels
Before the TV can detect and display channels and their
associated information, you must scan for channels. A channel
scan may also be necessary when the TV has been moved to an
area where different free-to-air broadcast television channels are
1. From the Tuner Settings menu,
highlight Auto Channel Scan.
The auto channel scan begins.
2. Wait until the channel scan is
100% complete. Highlight Done
and press OK.
3. Press the EXIT button on the

I'am Having old onida TV which is having only 29 channels, most of the channels i couldnt see. Is there any solution how to increase the channels.please tell me. Thanks

All you need to do is to get a multichannel TUNER which can be fitted to the present postion in the mother board. Make sure that you remove the present TUNER and ask for a HYPER BAND TUNER. The only issue here is that you will have only 29 positions to the memory and so that makes it important to only MANUALLY tune the required ones to the 29 positions.
The other solution is to add on a 200 channel expansion processor with tuner board to the existing motherboard. You will need to connect the voltages, the vertical and horizontal feed for the OSD- on screeen display and the IF, AFT outputs.
The last option is to get a set top box to expand the channels which comes with a remote as the output can be connected to the TV video/audio inputs.
Just contact any electronic store for the above mentioned units.
Thank you for using fixya.

My television set is stuck on one channel....the audio changes with the channel but the picture stays blurred on one channel...whats wrong with it?

Lots of possibilities. If you are using the remote, try also using buttons on the TV to change channels. If TV buttons work, the remote is broken or perhaps try changing batteries and cleaning battery contacts on the remote. If neither work, lots of other things to try. You may need to set preselect channels, so your TV thinks there is only one channel out there until you do. If you are on a cable box you just need channel 3 and change channels on the cable box. I can't tell what you mean by "audio changes with the channel" ... if you mean that when you try to advance channels, it increases volume and moving down in channels lowers volume that would be strange -- if you are using a programable remote it might not be set correctly (try another programming code). The "blurred" picture is probably symptomatic of having the set on the wrong channel, and if you could set channel it might clear up ... I'd start with getting channels to change. If you need more help, give the brand and model of TV, say if you are using a remote (original or programable), and what the 'audio changes' comment means in more detail. Probably worst case is that your tuner circuit is fried, but don't assume that without more diagnostic.

Channel changes automatically. None of the buttons seem to be stuck. Please help.

To troubleshoot this first ake the batteries out of the remote. If the changing of channels stops then the fault is with the remote not the television. Replace new batteries into the remote and see if the issue is resolved. If it continues go around each button pressing and releasing it - if the problem persists you will need to purchase a new remote.

If the problem continues even with the batteries out of the remote then you have a faulty tuner on the TV and this will need to be replaced.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Tv won't change channels. push channel up or down button on tv or remote and nothing happens.

Are you set to view through the antenna input. If you are on any other input say watching though your cable box your channel button for the tv is not usable. You are using the tuner in your cable box.

Run a channel scan on the DTV and/or TV input depending on what one your not getting channels on. This will solve your issue.

Change the input on the unit to the DTV or TV input. Press the menu button on the remote. Navigate to the tuner DTV or TV tuner setup menu. Go down to auto search using the down arrow. go right when with auto search selected. This may take a few minutes but you should have all the channels back after the scan.
