I bought a cellphone about 3 mouth ago and joined my friend's plan which is based on verizon. Then I found every mouth I have to pay $6.99 from my credit card to Bestbuy, and others who are in the same plan with me don't need to pay it. I was wondering what is it for and how to cancel it.Thanks very much

Whatsapp's purpose is to use your data plan without using your texting. It only costs 99 cents a year and is not a charge by Verizon. The data plan is the limit. If you use that limit Verizon will charge you every extra GB.
The first thing I would check is your charger. Sometimes the USB charging head stops working, or the cable between the charging head develops an open circuit and power is not delivered to your phone. I would first try another charger (such as your car charger), or perhaps someone else in the house has a charger, and see if that gets your phone to charge up. If you don't have another charger, try plugging your cable between your computer USB port and your phone to bypass the charging head, and see if that gets your phone to charge.
If not, take it to the local Verizon store and see what they can find out or what your replacement options are. A week ago, Verizon was having open enrollment into their Verizon Protection and Support plan. For $10 a month, I was able to get my Droid Razr Maxx replaced which had an issue with the earphone jack. Since I am grandfathered into an unlimited Data plan, this was the cheapest way to deal with the defect.
minimum $10 data plan with some new feature phones It appears that users who buy one of nine phones — dubbed “3G multimedia” handsets — will have to sign up for one of two data plans: 25MB a month for a whopping $10 (that’s 40 cents a MB) or an unlimited option that will reportedly replace the current 75MB plan for $30 (also 40 cents a MB). That’s right, Verizon thinks 1 MB is worth slightly less than a 44-cent postage stamp. The plans are substantially pricier than AT&T’s $15-a-month unlimited web add-on for feature phones — which, of course, is optional — and follows moves by both Verizon and AT&T to require data plans with all new smartphone purchases
More importantly, the requirement and suggested data plans may signal Verizon’s plans to raise data fees for users on the LTE network it will begin to deploy this year. Verizon last week said LTE users will incur a basic subscriber fee plus usage charges based on bandwidth consumption. If the rumored price hike is any indication of what it will cost to use the 4G network, the carrier may not ever have to deal with the kind of congestion issues that AT&T has suffered due to the iPhone simply because no one will be able to afford it
Thanks for the reply, however, I just called Verizon. The girl tried getting it to work using *228, but it did not help. The closest Verizon store to us is 1 1/2 hrs. away in Las Vegas. We will be traveling to family for the holidays so I plan on going into a direct Verizon store and try to get it replaced at no charge. The girl reactivated my old cell phone.
Will it charge in the car from a car charger and did they test it at the store before they gave you a new one. I heard that they have had problems with the new ones having a defect with the chargers. That they had the wrong homechargers in the boxes.
