try cleaning your plugs before inserting them into the machine. a dry clothe will do nicely. polishing the plug heads in a twisting motion.

Hi, what else do you do think you will need? I don't think you will need any other thing except that before you use the mic, the switch for the phantom power on the microphone is to be activated .Without the phantom being activated, the mic will not work.

It can only be activated with a mixer console that has a phantom activation on it. After connecting the mic to the mixer,activate the phantom power on the mixer and switch on the phantom power on the mic,and problem solved.

Note: Mic will not work if no phantom activated on the mixer.

That all you will need .

The reason it is not being picked up by your PC is because the NT1A is a condenser microphone and it requires an audio interface that can supply phantom power (48V) to get it powered up. Without phantom power, the NT1A won't work. You many need to buy an external audio interface that provides phantom power to use the mic. Hope that helps.

the process of elimation will help you to solve your issue. first plug the rode nt1 (great mic by the way), into a good pa head or something you know works, of course you will need to have a pa that gives you phantom power. if the mic works then move on to the preamp. try it in the pa too, if it works move on to the m-audiophle and plug a line level signal into it (a cd player or mp3 player for instance) it this works then you have determined that everything works and you don't actully have a problem other than switching, Also try plugging your mic into the M-audiophle directly and see if thaat works ( don't know if that provides the 48 volts, if it doesn't than you will have to get a phantom supply to plug into first. good luck

I have an rode nt1-a microphone, roland quad capture interface, but when im gonna record or put the input level i hear wind, i turn down the input volume all the way down, i still see the input signal

The Rode NT1A mic is a condenser mic and therefore it REQUIRES that "phantom" power be supplied by the mixer or amplifier. You will get only electronic "noise" if the mic is not receiving this power. Look up Phantom power to understand it. Essentially DC power is sent up the mic cable between the signal lines and the shield of the cable and is used by the electronics in the mic to amplify the signal from the condenser element.

My Rode Nt1A also stopped working. I think its because i took the silica gel bag from the case. Should i always keep the mic inside the case after the usage. and i dont use a pop up filter

Removing the silicone bag and not using a pop shield can lead to condensation on the diaphragm. Place it in a bag of rice for a day to dry out any condensation on the capsule.
It may not be due to condensation though. Make sure your phantom power source is working. If possible attach another mic to the same source to see if it works. Check the contacts on the mic and also check the wire for any erosion or debris. If none of these work, fixing the mic may be beyond DIY repair.
