The blinking green power light in front of the monitor - indicates 2 possibilities:
1. no video signal received (highly unlikely - 3 cameras); or
2. most likely internal monitor problem with part(s) of its circuitry and the auto-protect/shutdown is activated, hence the powering on and shutting down (blinking green power light). The clicking sound is most probably a relay inside the monitor that switches the power on and off.
A few thoughts:
1. The cameras get their power from the monitor. So if the monitor goes bad, the cameras will also be inoperable. And the same also holds true if any of the camera develops a power problem, the monitor would react;
2. The VCR is a separate unit and gets its video INput from the monitor and would not be an issue at the moment.
Things you can try:
a. Remove all the RJ11E ("Telephone" type) camera inputs and plug them back one by one just to determine if it's a camera problem and the monitor is simply reacting; or
b. Use a different monitor of the same type of input/configuration connectors.
Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.

The green connectors are for PIR (passive infrared ) motion sensors to be connected, they have nothing to do with you recieving a signal from your cameras. Double check to make sure the camera jacks are securely connected on both ends (camera & monitor) , and then hit your AUTO button which should automatically cycle through your cameras if you are indeed getting a signal. If you arent, you have other issues. As to the monitor getting darker. You will need to adjust the brightness from day to night unless you have an alternate light source or IR(infrared) Illuminator for night viewing.

Am not familiar with an SSC-960, there are however SVR-960 (4 versions) by
Normally Samsung follows similar installation procedures and the differences in
their model are advance features and the length of recording time. If this could be of any help,
is a users’ manual for a 1280 hrs model. It includes installation procedures.
Alternately you can try Google for “svr 960 pdf” but when I tried it most that
I can get are German language versions.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.
