Blanked flickering Pixels

I wonder if you can help, I have a 26” Samsung LCD HD ready TV (model number LE26R88BD). Ever since I have had this TV I have discovered a problem that really does my head in. The picture is really clear and crisp and so would seem that things are great, but this is not the case. Certain screen shots or images give the TV a problem. Part of the image is white and flashes as if it cannot compute the image fast enough and therefore not display it. The pixels are blanked out and flicker about. This seems to manly occur when the difference items are black and white or at least light and dark. The best way to explain this is if on the programme there is a venetian blind, the lines of the blind flicker and flash and then may sort themselves out. As you can imagine this really ruins your enjoyment of what you are watching.

It demonstrates this fault on both Sky and DVD’s. Although I would say that it seems more often with things saved on Sky plus.

To ensure it wasn’t my DVD players or Sky box I borrowed my brother 32” Samsung LCD TV and tested it on my equipment. It didn’t display the fault once. Not even on a programme that I specially kept on Sky Plus which demonstrates the fault every time on my screen. The only thing is that his TV is slightly older and so a different model. Not much more than a year or two.

I also have a 42” LG LCD TV which has used all of the above equipment and never displayed a problem of any kind.

With all these different permutations tried I can only come to the same conclusion that there is a problem with the Samsung TV.

I bought this TV from Curry’s this year and so it is well within its warranty period. It has always had this problem from new. Samsung did send an engineer out who agreed there was a problem and replaced the motherboard. However the same fault still occurred. After a great amount of stress and heartache I managed to get Curry’s to replace the TV. Great I thought problem solved. However the new TV has the same problem and now I don’t know what to do. Can it be the same on both TVs? Is there a known fault on this make? Are there any settings I can change to sort this out?

I’m sorry to rattle on but I’ve tried to give you an understanding of what happens as I appreciate it must be difficult for you to diagnose without seeing it for yourselves. I’m hoping that there is something to try as getting the TV changed the first time was a nightmare.
Thank you in advance,

Mike
