Possibly a defective paper sensor (small lever in the tray contacts
paper) Try removing, and inserting paper a few times if this clears it
then it was sticking. If that dosen't work then you will have to
disassemble it and inspect the area of the tray switch to determine
it it needs replacement

SOURCE: OKI B4600 Printer will not print = error - paused

Does it have a control panel or buttons on the printer itself?

If so, are any of them blinking or red?

Sometimes an error will cause a pause in the printer and you have to press one of the buttons to get it to start back up again.

This is the link to the manuf. website. I did a search on your model, theres a few so i guessed. but the manuals are available along with drivers.

I suggest you go and update them and go through the PDF and see if there is anything partaining to this issue.

I went through the PDF a bit and didnt see anything partaining to the PAUSE issue but try going through and see if anything is it.

On the printer icon on the bottom right of your task bar, right click on the printer icon and see if you can select CANCEL print job, then try unpausing it. Also, power off and then power back on and see if that clears it.

You may have to un-install the printer and re-install it and update the drivers to clear it.

Sometimes a Print job will get stuck in que when theres a jam or something and it wont continue till the issue is resolved, then you open and close the top cover and that resets it, it rechecks then continues.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Dear Sir, We have a

Hi,

I would remove the tray from the machine and all paper from that tray. Then turn it over and make sure and make sure that the paper slides are working correctly. The machine doesn't actually detect the paper just the fact that you have the paper slides up against it. So after you have put the tray back in the machine make sure the paper slides are firm up against the paper and it should be fine.

Also, while the tray is out of the machine make sure there is nothing in behind the tray blocking the sensors.

Good luck!

Switch off & on once the printer, load papers in both trays, go to system choose file ask to print, when dialog box appears go to properties, select tray2., the shoot print, check its printing or not. If its printing problem in tray1 paper sensor, clean it.Reason why its not taking from tray 2. In menu settings its selected default tray as tray1. if no paper present in tr1 printer ask to press OK choose another tray to print, during this period indicating error.Best to do: clean all paper path sensor tray1 and tray 2 to prevent further errors... My OKI C5500 will only print from the MP tray, and will not take paper from the bottom paper tray, even though there is plenty of paper in the bottom tray. Its giving me a 490 Error message, but I do NOT...

490 error means -

LOAD mmm AND PRESS ONLINE SWITCH 490: MP TRAY EMPTY

Print job from MP Tray has been received and the MP Tray is empty.

Load the requested media (mmm) in the MP Tray and press ON-LINE.

Check your print driver settings and see if your defualt try is set for the MP Tray. Also see if the page setup for the print job is set for MP tray.

Procedure to activate auto Tray switching in hp laserjet 4100

Okay, do you mean "Tray Linking". The process where, for example, if Tray1 goes to an empty condition, tray2 so the print job runs uninterrupted?

Or do you mean that you want Tray1 to print 6 or so pages and then switch to tray two because you need a different style of paper.

Tray Linking - you use the printer setup to activate.

Switch Trays - Usually controlled by printer escape codes.

If you create a "Print To File" off of the driver page, and send it to me at don.farr@hotmail .com I can look at the file and see what you are doing.

Oki c3400 paper jam

Run Status Monitor and make sure it is really a paper jum that prevents printer from printing. It is very likely that another reason is in place. For instance - toner empty of change drum request. All of this causes the "Attention" LED to blink: it's not only paper jam that causes it.

OKI C5400 & Vista

Assuming that you are using the same paper and have not changed any of the consumables you should do the following:

1. Clean LED head with lens cleaner or soft tissue.
  1. Remove the toner cartridge and give it a few shakes then reinstall it.
  2. The Toner Could be low so Change toner cartridge.
4. Make sure that the paper is not damp as this will cause fading and poor quality printing and images.
  1. The image drum may have been light contaminated so remove it from the printer and store it in a totally dark place for several hours then reinstall it.
  2. If the image drum is dirty then wipe it very gently with soft tissues, being careful not to scratch it.
  3. Open the top cover and check to be sure that each toner cartridge is fully seated and that each toner cartridge lock lever is pushed all the way back.
  4. Press the top cover release latch and open, then close, the cover.
  5. Check MEDIA MENUTRAY1 MEDIA TYPE and set as required. Do the same for TRAY2 and MPT.
  6. Check MEDIA MENUTRAY1 MEDIA WEIGHT and set as required. Do the same for TRAY2 and MPT.
  7. Possibly set the value of media weight in the menu to the next heaviest one.
  8. Check PRINT MENURESOLUTION setting and set to 600 x 1200DPI
  9. Check PRINT MENUTONER SAVE MODE and make sure this is OFF
  10. Check PRINT MENU – MONO PRINT SPEED and make sure this is set to MIXED SPEED
