I have new receicer hiw ti set up mouse v450 - Logitech V450 Mouse

do you have the driver disc and have you set it up correctly.
personally I do not recommend wireless keyboards or mouse because so many are prone to failures.
stick to the wired versions until tech improves

The problem is likely in the software (drivers), assuming that you are using quality batteries (those manufacturer's specs are based on top-shelf, fresh-off-the-truck alkaline batteries).

When you replaced the first set of batteries, the absence of a mouse caused the receiver to search, and having found none, it's common for the driver to reset to default settings.

The Logitech driver is the first suspect; go to Control Panel, Logitech Mouse...Driver Properties... Look for the "Auto-off" setting, and change it to 10-30 mins (or the lowest setting you can live with)...What you're looking for is the driver that has reverted to "never" in the auto-off setting...and if that isn't changed here, then it was Windows.
You'll have to tunnel a bit to get to this one, but it's not as hard as it looks.

The second suspect is the Windows driver; For Win XP, from the Control Panel, go to "Mouse"...or for Win-7 go to Control Panel- Devices and Printers, Hardware- and choose "Mouse" from the text links.

From the new menu, choose the "hardware" tab, and the "Properties" button near the bottom.
The new menu page has a text area that states "This device is working properly", and under that is a button labeled "Change Settings"...Click it.
Click the radio button labeled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"...and you're done.

Click the "OK" buttons to close the menu sets.

Go to http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/428/4335&cl=us,en?softwareid=671&osid=13. Select the vista 64 bit version of setPoint. Download and install. Also, altering the mouse properties in the Vista control panel can let you adjust the mouse.

I have the same problem.. Is that you have sims 3 installed?

The set point program that came with the mouse should have an option to allow you to reconnect the mouse.

Try opening up setpoint and seeing if the option is there for you.

The moues is plug and play so you don't need anything to use it and its basic functions. You can download set point and connection utility from logitech here to use the mouse's advanced features.

New devices like this are not compatible with a non supported antique system like XP.

It should be good up to 30 feet, whatever the setup. You might try plugging the send/receiver into a front port to see if that helps.

I usually open Device Manager, open each USB device and set the power to stay on, (not "turn off this device to save power"). That way, sleep mode won't cause you to lose contact with the mouse. Or just disable sleep mode.

now you can ask logitech for the replacment part also chek it on  any best buy store.

Call Logitech sales at 800-231-7717. They have it. But not sure if its worth the price. I canceled buying. Its $10 + 7.95 (S&H).
