Question about Lexmark X5150 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Cartridge holders I snapped off the clips that hold the cartridges in the holder. How can I replace them?

Had the same problem w/Lexmark X2480 all in one unit. I went to change the printer cartridge and when I tried to snap it closed into the blue clip, the blue piece broke into several tiny pieces that cannot be repaired. Am wondering if this is a replaceable part at all or if the machine is simply now useless to me?

Something similar happened to me, and all I need is a tiny part that probably cost Lexmark less than $5. My warranty expired a couple years ago. I'm willing to fiddle with it to see if I can fix it, but I don't know who is a good vendor for printer parts (even if Lexmark doesn't sell them you'd think someone might sell some compatible parts). Does anyone have a good suggestion for where to buy replacement parts for printers in general?

At this point you will want to review your warranty information. However expect to pay to have the machine repaired considering it is not a machine failure but "customer inflicted damage"

Lexmark does not carry spare parts for this printer so the only recourse you have is to hope it is still under warranty. Contact lexmark and create a rma so that you can return it.

Good luck dont forget to rate me!!!

Green light flashing and ink replacement light flashing red - when you press the button the cartridge holder will not move to the centre to allow it to be replaced

Hi!
Try to look for a ruler or something that will make you press the cartridge cover fully. It may be loose or not snap in properly thats why the cartridge holder won't go all the way.
Hope this helps.

Epson stylus sx200 refuses to acknowledge black ink bought direct from epson

I believe the DX series and the SX use the same system

# Determine which ink cartridges are not recognised.
# With the ink cartridge holder in the ink cartridge replacement position, lift up the ink cartridge holder lid and take the cartridge or cartridges out.
# Check that the cartridge is a genuine Epson ink cartridge - look for the EPSON branding and T0xxx codes on the cartridge labels.
# Check that the cartridges are correct for your Epson product.
# Wipe the green Intellidge Chip on the cartridge that is not recognised.
# Check the chip contacts within the ink cartridge holder for any debris or dried ink and wipe with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
# Check that the plastic at the bottom of the cartridge has been pierced.
# Check that the cartridges are in the correct slots.
# Reinstall the cartridges into the ink cartridge holder in the correct order.
# Push the ink cartridge down firmly. It should click into place.
# Repeat this for any ink cartridges that were removed.
# Push the ink cartridge holder lid down. It should clip into place and be secure.
# Press the Stop button, this will return the ink cartridge holder to the right hand side of the unit.
# If the error light flashes after the print head returns to the home position, the ink cartridge may not be installed properly.
# If the red light is no longer displayed, but Status Monitor still reports a Non-Genuine Ink warning.
# If the red light is still on the printer, and Status Monitor indicates that an ink cartridge is not recognised, follow the steps below.
# If the problem remains, there may be a fault with the ink cartridge.

Things You'll Need:
  • Replacement cartridge (black, cyan, magenta, or yellow)
  1. Step 1 Turn on the printer and press the Color button.
  2. Step 2 Lift up the scanner and wait for the ink cartridge holder to move into position. Remove the ink cartridge holder's cover.
  3. Step 3 Push the tab at the back of the empty ink cartridge to free it from the cartridge holder. Lift the empty cartridge out and dispose of it.

  5. Step 5 Insert the replacement cartridge into the appropriate slot of the ink cartridge holder. Push down on the replacement cartridge until it clicks into place.
  6. Step 6 Close the cartridge cover and lower the scanner until it clicks into place. The printer is now ready for operation

Installing a new color cartridge

Hi mariek2006,

Cannon printers usally the ink is housed underneath the top portion of the printer. To open the top, reach down under the buttons or display area,, and left up, a blue plastic piece will slide out and lock the top into place. Once that up, look inside and the ink cartridge will eventually slide over to the left side of the printer. Look left towards the silver bar and you'll see two plastic holders for the ink. Take the ink cartridge out, by pushing down on the top edge of the cartridge, then out. To replace them, remember to remove the protective seal on the ink cartridge and put the ink cartridge in by holding the ink cartridge at an angle that has the copper control slip pointing upwards. Make sure you put it in below the top ridge of the plastic holders. Then once you slip the cartridge into the holder at the upwards angle, pull up again on the cartridge to snap it into place. That's it your ink cartridge are reset with new ink.

Good Luck

P.S.
Don't forget to push the blue bar that is holding the top up in, and the top will slowly lower itself into place. Mark

How do i eject the ink carrier?

hi there,

  1. Look at the Epson printer's LCD screen to see the ink levels for each cartridge. If your cartridge is completely empty, simply press the "Color" button. If your cartridge has a low ink level, press "Setup". Hold down the button on the upper left side of your LCD screen until the words "Replace Ink" appears, then press the "Color" button.
  2. Wait until you see the words "Open the scanner" on the LCD screen. Then lift open the printer top by pulling up on the side grips next to the scanner unit. Make sure that the scanner lid remains closed. The ink cartridge holder should move to the far right of the printer.
  3. After the cartridges have completely stopped moving, pull the cover of the ink cartridge holder up and toward you. Press in the tab of the cartridge you need to replace. Lift the cartridge straight up to pull it out of the holder.
  4. Unwrap the replacement cartridge and insert it securely into the holder. Press straight down until the cartridge snaps into place.
  5. Close the cartridge holder cover and make sure it clicks into place. Close the scanner unit and wait while the printer charges the new replacement cartridge. Wait until the word "Charging" disappears from the LCD screen before using your printer.
Do not turn off your Epson printer while the "Charging" message is still on the LCD screen because this may cause your inks to not fully charge. Turn off your printer only if there has been no response for over five minutes.
Clean up any ink spills with soap and warm water.

Replacement ink cartridge: Black (T048120); Cyan (T048220); Magenta (T048320); Yellow (T048420); Light Cyan (T048520); or Light Magenta (T048620)

Hope this initial info/idea helps.

Let me know for further instructions.

Thanks

Cartridge holder broken

You could try the Lexmark parts store at

https://parts.lexmark.com/wpo-catalog/US_en/search_by_part

If they do not sell the part, if I were you I wopuld visit the second hand stores in your area (Goodwill,Value Village, Salvation Army, etc) and see if I could find a used printer with the part intact for a few dollars.

Thank you for using Fix Ya and please rate this solution.
