There is no control for contrast adjustment. But if the display quality has changed, it is possible that electromagnetic interference (EMI) or static discharge may have affected the display. You can try to reset the unit by pressing the reset button on the bottom with a ballpoint pen tip, but you will have to reenter the date, time, and tax rate if you do this.

Fx 115 es can't see the display

First, try adjusting the display contrast. Press SHIFT MODE down-arrow 6 then use the left/right-arrows to change the contrast. If that doesn't do any good, try replacing the battery.
Contrast adjustment is on page E-5 and the battery replacement instructions start on page E-71 of the manual.

No display

It is possible that you have dimmed it.
To adjust screen contrast
  1. Press [SHIFT][MODE] to access (SETUP)
  2. What should be displayed (even if you cannot see it) is the left part of the screen capture below.
  3. By pressing the Down arrow the second page of options should be displayed (even if you cannot see it).
  4. Press 6 to open the contrast adjustment screen (you will not see it either).
  5. Press repeatedly on the [+] key until something appears on the screen.
If you followed these instructions correctly and failed to make the display visible, then there may be some hardware damage to your calculator.

I am a teacher. I have about 10 calculators that

It has two batteries CR2032. They should not be removed at the same time. There must always be one battery in the calculator. The calculator should be turned OFF when changing batteries.

Often after you change batteries the screen contrast may be too light and you cannot see anything. The contrast can be adjusted (lightened or darkened). As you adjust the contrast setting,a highlighted number in the upper right corner changes to indicate the current contrast setting; 0 is the lightest, and 9 is the darkest.
To adjust the display contrast:
1. Press and release the [2nd] key.
2. Use one of two keys: (UpArrow or DownArrow)
--- To increase the contrast (darken), press and hold [UpArrow]
---To decrease the contrast (lighten), press and hold DownArrow

Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
