Mini disc units are funny- when you get one that works then you are good to go. But when you have a malfunction you have to take very careful steps as when discs get stuck or the system crashes- the wrong action will damage the TOC (Table of Contents) and then the disc can still have the music on it but the unit doesn't know where it is. I have seen many people in radio studios do the wrong thing and the data on the disc is lost. It is best to do straightforward type operation on these units and then once a problem is observed- best to have it serviced right away- hoping it goes away usually results in a broken plastic piece and a unrepairable deck. I know radio stations that have piles of those unit in the closet. The solution to mechanical issues is lubrication and a current limit resistor on the motor circuit.

EO3 COMES UP ON MY CDPLAYER CAUSE I HIT A BUMP IN THE RODE

Hi there:

Here are the listing as to what the error codes refer to:
- E01 - Focus Error - Disc is not loaded correctly, or condensation on disc
- E02 - Disc Error - Disc is dirty, scratched, or deformed; or excessive vehicle vibration
- E03 - Mechanism error - Loading or eject error. Pickup-up is out of position.

The E03 error typically occurs when the CD player mechanism is damaged. Try different types of CDs; a new music CD would be the best to try. If that also gives the same E03 error, your CD player probably needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Where can I get CD-R's that will work on this machine in Australia these days? ie Are there any non audio marked CD-R's that will work in it? I have tried Verbatim and TDK CDr's without any success. I have...

I don't know about availability of CDR-A or -Music in Australia but they are the only media that home CD Audio Recorders are designed to use.

Regarding the CD-RW Audio disks - I've used them for quite some time and do eventually get uncorrectable errors on them but never No Disc displays. Just the same, I don't consider them reliable enough for vital long term storage of music and use my PC to copy them to a CDR as soon as I can. Being a data- rather than real-time-music copy, I reckon the PC may be able to retry errors it encounters and maybe correct them during the copy.

Hi what does Error 03 mean?

My endeavor has done this error 3 a couple of times and the cd changer basically shuts off all lights and won't do anything. Someone on another solution page said to slide a credit card back and forth in the cd opening to fix the problem. I've done this both times and it has made the changer play again as if nothing had happened : )

A disc is in the Bose Wave system and will not play or eject

Unplug the system. Turn the entire unit upside down. The CDs will eject. After I tried this (found it online somewhere), it worked fine for about 2 months. Now it suddenly turns on by itself and ejects CDs (creepy). But at least the original problem was solved.

Disc won't initialize or record, keeps saying no disc or opc erro

I suggest you try cleaning the lens...

If the wrong disc was inserted, say a music disc, there would surely be a message to that effect. If no such message is displayed I would guess the unit is faulty.

Device Won't Recognise Blank CD-R Media or Certain Music CDs.

try and see if you can pull a directory using explorer,, sometimes if you record to the full 80 minutes capacity, the disc will return an error,,,even if you recorded it on that drive...also i know this may sound strange but on the drive tray itself take the mount where the laser is mounted and extend it out to the furthest travel point ,,,gently,,,do not force...load the disc, and see if it is now recognized,,,sometimes it is a timing issue, and this way the tray/laser recalibrates itself....

You need to change your USB Port... try the back of your computer. Or you need a firmware update.
