My laptop suddenly decided it didn't want to play CDs or DVDs. Figures, the warranty is up. What can I do to fix the problem

- Iam not able to see the dvd drive, when I open my computer and view. Also when I insert auto run cd/dvd, its not running the application.Please suggest me the solution to this.

- No matter what you do, the drive refuses to read disks, saying instead "Please insert disk into drive". When you insert the disk it makes the normal whirring sounds but then a dialog box appears. - GuestJan 30, 2009

- delete the hardware in hardware settings in the control panel, pull the drive out and reboot, then put the drive back in and reboot again (ya, rebooting suxs)tell me how it turns out
