Try this:
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned
off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program
that came with the printer.
When the software program asks you to
connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it
should again work properly.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

My computer doesn't send picture to be printed to my hp photosmart 8450. I have Windows Vista and it worked before. Now why does it show an error in the printer info and also, this printer is set as...

If there is something wrong with the printer, you should get a error message describing the error.

Does the printer have a blinking orange light after you give the print command? Then there is an error in the printer. If you have documents in the print queue, delete them. Remove the printer cable. Shut the printer down, shut the computer down. Reconnect the cable and turn everything on again.
If there is still a problem there might be something wrong with your printer.

If you don't have a blinking light after the print command on the printer, then try changing the printer cable. If not working, try another USB port. If still not working, reinstall the printer.

My printer will not print. It says it is queued and it just will not do anything. What can I do to make it print? It does not even say error or anything.

Remove the printer from your PC, delete the printer, restart the machine. Attach the printer, preferably with a USB cable and not the parallel cable. If you already had it using USB, attach it to a different USB port. Reinstall using the Windows driver instead of the driver that came with the printer. Your printer should work after that.

HP PSC 2410 stopped printing. Reinstalled sw - printer scans faxes prints self test but won't print docs! HELP!

When you reinstalled it did you unplug it from the computer. Often links to printers are lost, it's a Windows thing, frequently people reinstall in desperation, forgetting to uninstall the original and disconnect the printer USB. So, unplug the printer USB from the computer, go to control panel, and printers and delete the printers that you are going to reinstall which you see there. Then go to add and remove programs and remove all software.
If there are print jobs pending you may not be able to uninstall or delete, so click the printer and delete all jobs pending, then try the uninstall again.
When all is uninstalled, restart the system and reinstall, plugging in the printer only when the software asks for it.
It being an HP the uninstall option may well be on the installation disc so you can use that if you wish.

Try uninstalled the printer driver and reinstall it, your driver could be corupt. Do this as follow : I assum that your running on windows XP. Go on start menu-Control Panel then double-click on the printers and faxes icon, click on your printer and press delete on your keyboard and confirm that you want to delete the priner. After that make sure your printer is powered on and attatch to your computer. Reboot your computer, if windows does not reinstall it by itself, reinstall it with the original cd. It should work after reinstallation.

Cannot print

Try first unplugging power cord, pulling out cartridges, and putting them back.

Restart the computer.

Ensure you removed the cellotape strip from new cartridges, and that cartridges are properly installed.

Ensure that the printer is set as default printer in Windows.

Print a test page from control panel>>printers>>properties.

If all the above does not work, try a replacement USB cable, just in case, then proceed reinstalling the driver software. Follow the method below to reinstall software:

To reinstall the software you can use the disk that came with the printer, or download the driver software:

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
Afterdownloading, findthe file, double click on the file , then if you getintroubles, followthe instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Not that it is a help for your problem but the file name should be PSW_RE.DLL - a dot belongs before the '.DLL'

If you haven't tried it yet, delete the printer from the 'Printers and Faxes' folder in the Control Panel, make sure the printer is connected and turned on, then reboot the computer.

This will force Windows to reinstall drivers for it and should return functions.

HI I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE INK IN MY CANON MP 760 PRINTER. ON THE PRINTER ITSELF HOWEVER, AFTER OPENING A DOCUMENT (WORD) TO PRINT, IT FAILS TO PRINT. THE PAPER IS STILL FED TROUGH AS THOUGH IT IS...

Check that is defined as default printer in 'installed printer' in Windows, and that you are not sending documents in printout to another non connected printer present in Windows under 'installed printers'.

Unplug completely computer from power socket and from USB for 10 minutes, to get rid of electrostatic problems on USB. Plug everything back and restart.

Check the USB cable, replace USB cable with a different one to check if it was the cable.

Uninstall printer from 'installed printers' in Windows (delete). Disconnect printer from USB, reinstall printer from printer software CD or downloaded driver. Connect printer to usb only after installing, or when explicitly required by software, this is important

Here is link to driver download, put your windows version in select OS box.

Print wont print

Hello, You may check to insure the USB cable at the printer or at the computer is connected properly and didn't come loose by chance. Try disconnecting the USB cable from the computer, wait ten seconds then reconnect. This will let Windows "find" the printer again. Worse case scenario, you could delete the printer through device manager, reboot you computer and Windows will "find" the printer and reinstall the driver automatically on restart. Also check that the ink cartridge(s) is seated properly.

Computer won't recognize printer

We know it isn't the printer or the USB cable. We know it isn't the software. You are running Windows XP on both the desktop and laptop, correct? On your desktop, you go to 'Start''Settings''Printers' and is the printer there ?? Try this; go to 'Start' 'Settings''Control Panel'. Double click the 'System' icon. Click on tab 'Hardware', click on 'Device Manager'. Do you see a yellow (!) on any Universal Serial Bus Controller. If not, were good. Check all USB ports with a USB mouse or device to make sure they're active.
