No LAN I have the Gateway GT5220. I recently had to reinstall windows and now I don't have a LAN adapter. The Gateway site doesn't have a driver for windows xp and it doesn't say the manufacturer of the network card

Compaq Presario 2050NX onboard pnp nic (LAN) device not found - reinstalled onboard LAN device driver, still can't see it

For Windows XP CLICK HERE
In Windows 7 the driver installs automatically
I would suggest uninstalling all drivers for the network adapter then reboot and allow the system to find the NIC again. If this is Windows XP uninstall all drivers for the NIC, reboot, and install the above driver.
If it is Windows 7 uninstall the drive, reboot and allow device manager to locate the driver itself.

according to the sites info on the network ethernet adapter, it should indicate to you the chipsets product name. take that information and go directly to the chipset manufacturer and look for an xp supported driver at their website.

I recently reinstalled Windows XP onto my computer and when I did it didnt recognize the driver for network adaptor. How do i get that adaptor driver?

Go to the Internet site for that adapter's manufacturer, and locate the drivers for that exact driver. Then download it and install it, and it should work fine.

No video, shows orange light on front which gateway says video

it sounds like your hardware is not compatable with the update. if you can restart the computer and press f12 to boot to safe mode you should be able to open the device manager from Run: by typing devmgmt.msc, find the video adapter under 'display adapters', double click your adapter to bring up the properties window, click the 'driver' tab and click roll back driver
hope this helps. please rate me and thanks for choosing enterprise computing solutions...

Nvidia Ethernet Driver for windows Xp on Gateway GT5220

It might be disabled. Check Network Connections to see if it is there. Make sure view is set to details. There it should tell you whether it is enabled or disabled. Right clicking will give you a menu to toggle the state.

Other place to check after the above is to check the Device Manager. See if it has a problem with it or not. You can reinstall the driver here too if it shows up in the list.

Need more info, just ask.
