Question about Umax Astra 2100U Flatbed Scanner
I'm trying to set up scanner on a different computer than I originally used it with. I have the software - a CD labelled UMAX Version 3.52U. umax.com says to use 3.55 for $14.95 - I haven't yet. I'm running Windows XP. I checked online for drivers and have downloaded the most recent for this model. When I try to download from the CD I get the following error message, "OS is not supported, setup aborted." Curiously, it downloaded all of the related software, including PageManager, with no problem. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks, Ej
First, go to the link below and download the Vistascan 3.55 and install. http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/211488/umax-scanner-astra-2100u-vistascan-3.55-usb-free-download.html Next, download and install the Patch for XP from UMAX (link shown below) and you should then be able to see and use your scanner. http://www.umax.com/download/index.jsp Note: the software on the original disk can still be used.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
