Question about Brother DCP-8020D All-In-One Laser Printer
Soulvisitor - Thanks for your good advice on the document feeding problems with Brother printers. I have inspected my left hinge and I don't think it's the problem. When you first insert a page in the doc feeder, the machine spins up, sucks in the page about 1/2 inch and then the ERROR light comes on. So I'm more inclined to think that the problem is with the Document Pickup/Feed Roller assembly. Would you agree? Should I replace other parts as well (rubber separation pad, LF roller assembly, etc.)? Thanks! - Dave Claunch
Clean rubber rollers with metho, run a page by hand of laminate or stiff card threw the doc feeder. Stick it where the paper comes out of DF and ensure path is clear.
Push down on left side or tape down little black switch (rear left corner near glass)while trying to use df to confirm hinge aint the issue
If it is the rollers it should feed when paper is "helped a little" with hand at feed time
Ensure prints ok when using glass instead of df to know it is df problem
