Low water pressure. Caused by not enough water in machine (water valve or house water supply). Also could be pump screen is clogged up (bad chopper assembly) Also could be caused by spray arms themselves being clogged. (goes hand in hand with pump screen being clogged) These are the 3 most common problems i have seen and all could cause low water pressure in the machine. This is assuming the dispenser door is opening!

The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com. They have a new product out that solves this problem once and for all. It filters the water entering your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that cause these spots. Very affordable and guaranteed to leave your dishes looking amazing every time.
if you are using tablets as opposed to liquid then just put them in cutlery basket at beginning of cycle wash result will still be the same, probably wax valve has failed these do go often and will need new dispenser or wax valve service engineer will need to change
The water may not be hot enough. Increase the temperature of the incoming hot water or try this: put the tab in the open soap cup so it will start to dissolve during the pre-wash. Then it will finish dissolving during the main wash. If the dishes get clean using this method you may not have to increase the water temp.
The newer Whirlpool dishwashers have little slots in the top of the soap dispenser to allow water to seep in during the first water fill. This design allows the tablet to begin to dissolve during the first fill then be usefull when the soap door opens. In your case, I would check to see if the soap dish is opening at all. Perhaps one of the racks are not allowing clearance or the soap door itself is sticking closed.
Let the dishwasher fill, drain, and then fill again. Open the door of the dishwasher and see if the soap door is still closed and if so, there is your problem. Also, at this time, check the water temperature. It should be at least 120 degrees F for the soap to be effective.
I have this same problem, plus the pre-wash soap dispenser doesn't open sometimes even though a service guy replaced that. Could he have replaced just one side and not the other? this dishwasher also has a new motor. sometimes it washes beautifully. but other times it does not. even if both dispensers opened.
Do not recommend premeasured tablets, usually too much soap. If pre-rinsing dishes use only 1 or two teaspoons of soap in the main
wash cup..do not put soap in the prewash cup. Excess soap can cause
oversudsing and make the soil sensor think the dishes are real dirty
initiating additional wash cycles. Use rinse-aid for better drying performance
water is getting past the gasket during the start up cycle. by the time the door opens, the water has caked up the soap. also, its not clear when in the cycle the door is opening. try using liquid soap. also, take a peek just after the machine has finished filling and starts washing to see if the door is opened on the soap disp. good luck mark
Run the unit with no soap, after about 5 min. of run time open door and check to see if water is clear or soapy,If soapy then you are having an oversudsng issue. When your washer gets to rinse cycle, your unit (if oversuding),will be rinsing with soapy water and the the drying cycle bakes the soap on dishes. You might be having a white film on your clear glasses.Cut down on soap especially if you have soft water.powder soap is best.Your dishwasher will fill , wash , the drain. Its what you put into it that will cause dishes not become clean.
water valve under dishwasher that let the water come in is not opening all the way causing either low water level or no water to come into the dishwasher. with out the proper amout of water the soap cant be disolved. replace water val to solve problem
