LG dishwasher LD2080TH Error code: E1

LG has programmed in the E1 error code to indicate when the drain pump is running, it is not receiving the back pressure it needs. This is most likely an indication that there is a water leak in the draining system.

The machine takes water and a minute later empties it out again with an error code E1. I opened it to see if any leaks anywhere as the diagnostic page puts this down to leaking pipe, but no leak found...

Hi salim talati,

The E1 you are seeing means Water Level in Drum lowering, this is likely a reduction in speed of the impeller on the Circulation Pump, which is responsible for pushing the water to the Spray arms.

It will have to be replaced, as it is a common spare that has to be replaced on L.G Dishwashers (lifetime expectancy: 12 - 18 Months) - Not very expensive.

Usually is about 20%-25% the price of a new Dishwasher. The Circulation pump is fitted to the sump. Part Number: 5859DD9001A or 5859ED1001A (Depending which one is in stock)

See below a image of what a Circulation Pump looks like:

Error caused by a leak which fills the plastic base tray and operates pressure switch to stop machine working, easy to check by removing metal panel under door (2 screws) and feeling for water. Make sure its switched off first. If pool of water found like i found dry out remove side panels and run on a short cycle to locate leak. Mine was from a joint with a oring on the RH side of the m/c which was a odd size decided to silicone joint which worked.
