IS IT REPLACE TONER OR REPLACE DRUM. IF DRUM OPEN FRONT AS IF TO REPLACE TONER AND DRUM, LEAVE DOOR OPEN, DEPRESS I THINK MENU BUTTON OR ONE OF THOSE ON RIGHT SIDE OF KEYBOARD IT WILL ASK YOU REPLACE DRUM 1 FOR YES 2 FOR NO. IF COPY IS GOOD SAY REPLACE, IF COPY IS BAD, REPLACE DRUM, COMPATIBLES DO WORK.
You need to go buy a Brother DR-350 drum unit cartridge. The drum unit is the thing that the toner cartridge (TN-350) clicks into. Pull out the drum/toner unit and separate the two halves. Place your TN-350 into the new DR-350 cartridge and put back in the printer.
Open the front cover.Pull out the drum and cartridge unit.Unlock the toner from the drum with the blue clip.Take the new drum remove all the pacaging material insert the toner in the new drum.Replace the drum and toner unit back in the machine. While the cover is open, press the clear button. The machine will display "Replace drum yes or no" Select Yes.Close the front cover.
with machine on, open front cover, press the "options" button, you should see "replace drum?" press the "start" key then 1 then 0. display should show accepted for a couple of secs. then show cover open. close front cover and message should be gone. if not, you will have to contact Brother.
take the drum unit out which contains the toner cartridge, buy new brother toner cartridge and reinsert it in to the drum unit and then put it back into the machine and you will be good to go
beware of generic toner! you may need to change out your drum unit the drum unit may have been contaminated by the staples toner. also clean laser window under drum cartridge.
There could be a couple reasons. One, it may be the person sending you the fax that has a problem with their machine. The easiest way to find out is, put a clean document in the feeder and make a copy. If the copy is clean then you know it is not a problem with your machine. The other possibility is that when Brother sells these new machines they only provide you with a starter drum and toner. Many times the drum may have defects and the machine does not detect these so you will not get a message telling you to replace it. If you do determine its your machine I would start by replaceing the drum unit first, then the toner. Good luck John
