Hello ra78,

1.First, make sure that you have inserted the correct compatible colour cartridge for your printer properly and into the correct slot. You should hear an audible click when the cartridge is in place. Also make sure that you have removed the protective covering from behind the cartridge. Check to see that all contacts are clean. Alignment errors are generally due to incorrect placement of cartridges/defective cartridges/corrupt printer software.

2.Next, make sure you have the latest driver. You can download it HERE or HERE (This is the stripped down version).

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If, however it has not, then please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best as I can.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!

The HP's have a little oval-shaped rubber 'do-hikey' that seals the
area around the ink jets. It generally gets gummed up with dry ink, and
    does not seal completely anymore.

Check and see if there is something similar that covers the print head when it is not in use.

The "banding" can also occur as the cartridge starts getting towards
the end of it's life. Also try cleaning the contact areas with a soft
cloth. Poor contacts can cause similar problems.

If large ink droplets are forming on the head during printing, this is a sign of poor contacts or a physically damaged head.

However, most of the time it is caused by "clots" in the areas
supplying the jets, or in the jets themselves. Sometimes soaking the
jets in a tray of alcohol or water for a while can dissolve these
"clots", but the success rate is not that great. Better to fix the root
    of the problem.

BTW: Avoid turning the cartridge upside-down. Always hold it so
gravity pulls the ink down to the jets and keeps them primed. Turning
it upside-down can allow air to be drawn back into the jets.

  • please clean your printer cartridge ones an try it.

  • Was this a new cartridge or did you re-fill? Make sure the cartridge
was installed properly. Make sure you do not touch the copper contacts.
If you did wipe GENTLY with alcohol. Did you remove the protective tape
    from the print nozzles?

  • Carefully set it in some hot water being careful not to get the
contacts wet. When you see that ink is seeping from the cartridge wipe
it of and try it again.

Another method is to put a wet cloth in
the microwave to get it hot and let the cartridge set on that until ink
begins to seep. May require a couple of tries.

There are several reasons why the HP All-in-One may fail to align the cartridges. The most common reason is an ink cartridge that has one of the following problems:

    • One of the ink cartridges is low or out of ink. Black and all three colors must be available.

    • The paper has already been printed on or is colored paper.

    • Protective tape on a new ink cartridge has not been removed.

    • Contacts on the ink cartridge are not meeting the contacts in the carriage correctly.

    • Cartridge is remanufactured or refilled. Refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges may have been damaged during the refilling process or have clogged ink nozzles.

    • The ink cartridge is defective.
Follow the steps below to resolve the problem:

hello, machine will need to finish calibration so it will not come back, so if machine failes it could be that the color cartridge is not printing, because this machine uses yellow to calibrate with.

Print cartridge will not align

This could be an issue from remanufacturing. Try a new cartridge from HP.

Many manufacturers have hardware in the cartridge and the printer that tell the printer "new cartridge". When a cartridge is refilled, you can have that giving a "bad" message.

I wish that I could be of more help.

Ink Cartridge Alignment

On alignment sheet, do you see a line of yellow blocks?
And on next line do you see alternate block and yellow blocks?

(Without these, alignment fails)

If not, change the colour cartridge, re-print the page and repeat alignment.

Good luck...

Press the cancel button. Then press the "setup" and top "copy option" buttons together to enter maintenance. Use the right arrow (right copy option) button to scroll through the options if you like, but then hit the cancel button to skip the alignment.

Can't get the printer to print

Cycle power including unplugging AC cord from printer.

If you cannot copy (scan) after power on, the printer is bad.
You should be able to copy (scan) after printer is turned on and initializes (It will say "COPY / 100%").

Color Cartridge Failure

You know, I'm not going to read the other solution. I know 100% FOR SURE, when a cartridge fails, it is dead and there is nothing you can do about it, but there is a good side. HP ink cartridges have a year warranty. Call them and tell them it failed, they'll send you a new one!

Hp 2110 All in One Printer

Does the machine ask you to "align" the print cartridges when you turn the machine back on? If the alignment page when finished printing is missing a key color (say yellow), then the alignment will not succeed.
