The printer (X7170) is showing error code 1203. I removed and replaced the cartridges but still have the error code showing.

Problem Error 1203 ; 1203 error message; 1203 cartridge error; Cartridge short error Solution Overview
The 1203 error message is caused by either a communication failure between one of the printheads (cartridges) and the All-In-One (AIO), or by a short in one of the printheads.
Resolution

If the problem occurred immediately after the printer was purchased and unpacked from the box, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for assistance.

If the problem is occurring during the normal printer lifetime, the procedures below will help you to resolve it.

Printer does not work. is Lexmark x4270 . I replaced cartridge and it shows on panel this message: Error #1203

Try this may do the trick
ERROR 1203 LEXMARK ERROR 1200 Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad...

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.

Error code # 1203

Error 1203 is basically a cartridge error. Try cleaning the contacts on the cart & in the cart carrier, reseat the carts & then power off the printer. while holdin down the stop clear button, rebrick the power chord.

Error 1203 means that there is no cartridge attached to the printer head. However, there are some cases when this error message appears because the cartridge is not attached properly to the printer. If this happens, the printer will not be able to identify the presence of the cartridge and thus encounter an error.
