What is the part number for the rubber gasket or bellow for the GE front load washer Model #WBVH5200?

The door rubber gasket/bellow for GE WBVH5200J0WW/J1WW/J2WW/J3WW/K0WW is part number WH08X10036. The said part may look a bit different from the original one installed on your machine but it is an original equipment manufacturer replacement part and is equivalently functional.

Door gasket leaking

My GE washer model wcvh6400j0ww was leaking too. The repair person thought the same thing the gasket. It turned out to be the water in-let pipe (WH41X10118 and you will need seal WH41X10119) and not the gasket. He ordered the gasket and took machine apart to replace and found cracked pipe. Take your machines front off and make sure it is the gasket leaking. Good Luck,

We discovered that our front door inner gasket is torn. Therefore, it's leaking during every load out of the door. I will be ordering the part but concerned that I won't be able to replace it. Do you...

If you've not done this before, expect to spend a lot of time. I've replaced these without disassembling the washer's front, but it's an arm-twisting experience to put the inner part of the gasket on, and to attach and tighten the clamp holding it. Haven't tried removing the front panel, if you can, do it - the job becomes much easier.

PS Check shocks and if the washer is leveled enough, door gaskets tear from excessive loads and excessive vibration.

Our gasket tore. How do you replace the gasket?

Its actually pretty easy.

1, Remove the top of the washer
2. Remove the screws behind the front panel with the knobs and buttons. set the whole assembly on top out of the way
3. remove the door of the hinge. there are 4 screws
4. remove the concrete weight
5. remove the back band folding gasket. It has a bolt.
6. remove the front band, its just under spring tension
6. replace gasket and install back band first.
7. work your way backwards from here.

Good luck

Scott

Torn gasket on a front load ge washer

Not too hard or technical. I followed John in Erie's instructions:

Replacing gasket is fairly simple - need 2 people. UNPLUG FIRST - 1. Remove the plastic cover on top of machine that is mounted to back of control panel. 2. remove dispenser - push down on tab at back and it will slide all the way out. 3. Remove lower front cover by removing 3 screws holding it on bottom. 4. Remove 3 screws holding top panel on back of machine and slide cover back approximately 1 inch and lift off. 5. Remove the 3 screws that hold the control panel on - note these are different type of screw so keep track of which screw goes where - one of the screws is next to dispenser opening. Once this is done you can reach in to machine and disengage locking tab on right side under "washer temp" - have someone hold this part aside if you do not want to disconnect the cables. 6. Remove spring loaded wire securing door seal to front cover. 7. Remove the the 4 screws holding the front cover on. This item is a bit heavy so be careful. Disconnect the three door latch wire harness and place this aside. 8. On the right side of the gasket you will find the clamp screw that holds the seal to the drum - loosen this screw almost all the way and remove this wire clamp. carefully remove the two tube connections and remove the gasket completely. Take note how these were installed before removing. Now you can carefully clean the gasket seats on the drown and door and replace the gasket and reverse the steps to put the machine together. While you have the covers off it would make sense to remove and clean the pump strainer mounted on the lower cross support - this can be messy with lots of water coming out so go slowly and have plenty of towels and a shallow pan to catch the water with. HOPE this helps.

I bought my part at Appliance Zone. From what I paid and how long it took to get to me, I should have just bought it locally for a little more and had it delivered a lot sooner. Replacement took an hour and a half.
