I have windows 2000 and IE 6.0. Yahoo works fine, but when I want to read mail, it cannot find the page. I tried all kind of settings for IE.

Is Yahoo mail not longer supported by windows 2000?

It is most likely an error with your browser. If you are running ie make sure you are running the most up to date version. I would recommend though that you download and use Mozilla Firefox.

Hope this helps,
Harris

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I get an error message,LaunchFFC-1,when trying to access my yahoo mail account.I have changed browser,i have updated adobe reader, java script and Moziilla-IE browsers but nothing works. Do you have any...

It seems that yahoo has been upgrading their servers and in the process many people are getting the same error as you.
In the mean time you can use the following link to access your email:
US: http://us.m.yahoo.com/p/mail

It should work with that link assuming you have a us yahoo account.

If this doesn't work or if you aren't in the US please let me know and I will try to look for a better solution.

Yahoo mail and yahoo messenger doesnt work on my system . its because 999 error how do i fix this?

The most common reason for receiving Yahoo Error 999 is due to some sort of bandwidth limiting system that Yahoo has put in place on their servers. Once you have exceeded your allotted bandwidth for a specific period of time Yahoo gives you this Error 999 message and doesn't allow you to access the service. People have primarily reported receiving this error when they try to access Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Groups, but other Yahoo services may also be affected.
instructions on how to fix can be found here:

I am not able to open my yahoo mail getting the below error, pls go through the error msg as below This webpage is not available. The webpage at...

Hi Ruksre,

Check to see if you have entered your email ID & password correctly. If so & if this keeps bothering you then it looks like someone has hacked into your Yahoo Mail Account and changed the password. You better get in touch with the officials at Yahoo. They might have a better answer and also a solution for your problem. Don't worry. This happens all the time. The way to avoid it is to keep a long and confusing password (not confusing to you but to a hacker) and keep changing it every 15 to 20 days.
Also keep an alternate email ID on another email service provider like gmail or rediffmail or whatever. This will help you in many ways. For example if you forget your password for your yahoo account then you can opt for Forgot Password... and redirect the yahoo server to send it to your second or alternate email account and vice versa. But this can only be possible if, while registering fro the first time, you have submitted the alternate email id to yahoo. In case, God willing, your yahoo mail starts again then go to the settings in the My Account page and give an alternate email id. But make sure that the alternate email id you give them, exists.

I hope you get your stuff back online. Good luck to you.

I cannot send email to using yahoo account

You must allow your router access to send out mail. other wise it will keep the messages you send in the outbox. go to your router setup or type your router ip address in the internet browser and manually enable the port 465 you may have to goto applications and games tab if you have a linksys router. Also enable ports 80 for internet,25 for simplemail transport protocol (SMTP),110(e-mail),443secure (bank account information) this will allow the router the proper ablity to send and recieve e-mails.

Often my in coming mail gets error code 17 when I retrieve it. This happens on yahoo.mail. I have a dell xp.

Sir,
Sorry for the inconvenience.

You've stumbled upon a temporary problem we're having with Yahoo! Mail. Usually this problem gets resolved quickly, without you doing a thing.

Try pressing the Reload or Refresh button on your browser, or signing out and back into Yahoo! Mail. Hopefully that will take care of things.

If that doesn't fix the problem, please try again shortly. The fact that you're reading this page means we've been automatically notified of the issue, and chances are we're working on it now.

If you think you've been more than patient and tried the tricks above, feel free to contact Customer Care about Error Code 17.

Email set up problems

from the data you have given, me, it sounds like you are using Either Outlook, or the bundled Windows Mail service.
What is happening, is that an email your program is trying to send, an email with "test" in the subject line, but is unable to because it cannot connect to the server. looking at the string, I see several problems. make sure your settings are configured a mentioned below:
  • Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)
  • Outgoing (SMTP) Server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)
  • Account Name/Login Name: your Yahoo! ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")
  • Email Address: your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., user@yahoo.com)
If this doesn't resolve your problem, refer to this page for more information. (Note: if you do not subscribe and pay in to a "Yahoo Plus" plan, this could also pose a problem, as Yahoo does not allow you to use third-party email programs with their "free" service, as they like to restrict it to webmail only. If you want a free email service that *does* however, I strongly suggest you check out google's Gmail service [what I use])

When i try to read my msg on yahoo.. i get an internet error

Kadi
Hope this help. Now let's try a few thing

1. First. Yahoo Beta Mail? Is that what you are using?
If so Clear your browsers cashe.
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Delete.
Click Delete files, and then click Yes.
Click Close, and then click OK.
You did that right? Now Completely re-Download all your messages. Every one of them.
Wait until they are downloaded. Don`t hurry. Hows that?
2. Well try this. = 2. In the new Yahoo! Mail, you don’t do this with your browser anymore.
Now, just change your
character encoding setting right in Yahoo! Mail!

Here’s how:

In the toolbar, click More Actions and select Set Encodings.
From the list that appears, select the encoding that matches the message’s content.
Note: Only one character encoding set may be viewed at a time. And in this case,
changing your
browser’s encoding setting will not work. Hows that?
Still can`t get it? Try Switch Back at the top of your page. (Don`t worry you can return)
Hows that?
3. Now you are in Original Mail Right? Messages all there?
If not try this. = Select any email where the header information is displayed, but there is
nothing in the
"body" of the message where you would expect to find text, etc.
Move your mouse to the area of the expected "body" of the message and right-click...on
the menu that appears, click on "Encoding"...on the menu that appears, if "Auto Select"
has a check mark, leave it as is...if not click "Auto Select"; then this menu will
disappear...right click again in the "body" to cause the same menu to display again...then
click on "Western European (Windows)"...you should now be able to view the "body" of
all messages that you couldn't view before...obviously, if the problem somehow occurs
again, do the same procedure described above again. I have no idea how or why these
settings get "changed" or "corrupted" after everyday use, but apparently they sometimes
do.
Hows that?
Now if those steps dont work do the following below.

Ok PC has problems then. Update your operating system, Browser, Shockwave Flash ,
Java. Everything. Get all patches. The whole works. Also try Firefox browser.

Note in Original / Old / Yahoo Mail in a pinch try this. =
Put message in Print Copy. Then read it. OR
Click Reply on Message to read it. Then backbutton out. OR
Put message in Excel or Wordpad to read it

Thank you. Please ket me know the results
