How do I reset the mouse after installing new batteries?

I have figured this problem out in the past...however, today is Monday & I am stumped & brain dead. Can you please instruct me how to reset the Belkin wireless mouse after replacing the batteries?
Thank You!

    Thank You Irish Druid!

This Colleen from Tyron had tried your suggestion 2-3 times with no luck... Decided to take a break from the frustration & realized the the metal connector piece from the base of the mouse for the batteries had fallen out and was on the floor. Sliding that piece back into place made the mouse light up like a Christmas tree! I shall print your fix-it and file it least I forget it again.

At the bottom of the mouse you should see a connect/reset button. First plug in the USB reciever and press the connect button on that. Next press the connect button on the mouse. Should get connected now..

Glad to be of help. You did the major part, though....finding that metal strip. Had you not mentioned that, we would never have figured this out :)

Receiver does not seem to be working

Your problem is apparently in your mouse. Look at the bottom of the mouse where the receiver is placed back when not in use, there is a little thin button, it has to be depressed when receiver is in the USB port. Take the battery off, get a new and fresh battery, prior to inserting it back in the mouse, while holding down the small button install the new battery releasing the button simultaneously. Check also that the battery contacts in mouse are clean. Good luck!!! Chawah.

Microsoft wireless mouse 3000 - all lights are on; flash upon reset, but still doesn't work. Running Vista 64-bit.

Try to take off battery and next push and hold down the small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed in the mouse, put back battery and simultaneusly release the button,it might make the mouse operate correctly. Good luck!!!! Chawah.

Battery compartment for wireless mini optical mouse

This sounds like the mouse I just bought. If you look closely at the mouse, you'll notice a small gap that sort of divides the top of the mouse from the bottom. Hold the mouse as if you are going to use it then slide your fingers down past that gap. Gently push down and pull at the same time and the battery compartment is just underneath. Of course, when you drop it a couple of times, the battery compartment opens and the batteries roll out, lost forever :)

Flahsing Red Light

Now what you have to do is look for a reset button on your mouse and your wireless mouse signal receiver.
When the receiver and mouse both are on press the reset button on both of them one by one.
This should solve the problem.

Belkin Wireless Mouse

Today I tried pressing the reset button on the bottom of the mouse, and at the same time pressed the button on the top of the remote reciever. I'd pressed both in the past, but never at the same time. This seems to have fixed this problem. I hope it's a solution for others also.

WIRELESS\BLUETOOTH Check your battery if it is drained. Try replacing them witha new one or charge them if they are rechargables.
