Ok firstly turn on your PSP then follow these simple steps.
1. Goto the far left menu and scroll down to Network Settings then press X.
2. The next screen asks you either Ad Hoc or Infrastructure, choose Infrastructure.
3. Select "New Connection" on the next screen
4. The next screen is "WLAN Settings". Select "Scan".
5. After it has completed the scan it will bring up a list of wireless signals and the name of the particular router which is the "SSID"
6. Select which SSID is yours.
7. The next screen will say "SSID" and underneath your SSID. Press right on the D-Pad.
8. The next screen is WLAN security settings. Select WPA-PSK(TKIP) as this is the most common. If at this point it does not work, go through these steps again but select WPA-PSK(AES)
9. Press right on the D-Pad again and the next screen will ask you for your WPA Key. This is your security key that the router requires for anything to be able to connect to it. Usually it is found on a sticker on your router or it is supplied on a card when you first got your router.
10. After you have entered you WPA key press right on the D-Pad
11. The next setting is Address Settings. Select Easy.
12. Press right on the D-Pad, then right again. Check everything on the settings list is correct then press right once more.
13. Finally press X to save the settings
14. The last step will be to test your connection. If everything went well there should be no errors and you can return to the home screen.
I hope this helps
Hi PrincessDi,
The PSP can only connect to the internet through WIFI. You can ride around to find a hot spot, or go to an internet cafe'. I can go to the big sity nearby on main street and always pick up a hotspot. Run network connection to setup the wifi and connect. In your home you will need internet, and a router setup to broudcast Wifi. The USB port on your PSP is for loading up stuff like music Video and games. You could go online on your computer and go to www.playstation.com and download Music,Video, Wallpapers, Screenshots, and trial Games. Then hook up your PSP through the USB connection to load whatever you downloaded on your computer to the MagicGate Card in your PSP. WWW.Playstation.com also has the manual you can download under PSP and Support.
