Panasonic pt-53tw53 convergence

In i had a convergence problem with my panny. i changed both ics. stk 392-110 to stk 392 180. when i was finishe i connected my dvd player, went to the convergence menu and lined everything up. the picture was beautiful. i left the movie playing for about half an hour to make sure everything was ok. i then put in the rest of screws closed up the back and connected the rest of my media. when i powered the tv back on i got three red flashes. is this because of i have an open resistor, maybe a bad solder or could it be related to the fact that i chang from stk392-110 to syk 392-180.

It looks more like an open solder because you were able to align it properly after replacing the STK ICs, if there was an open resistor(s) you would not be able to get it align.
I would suggest to go back and double check the solder joints on the STK ICs as well add some fresh solder to the resistors nearby the stk392-180.
Good Luck.

Panasonic PT-53TW53; Red shadows appear and then the t.v. shuts down.

The convergence output IC's have failed. Only fix is to replace them. These are large amplifier IC's bolted to heatsinks and have a high failure rate in all projection sets.

Sounds like you need new convergences ICs. There are two of them in your set sometimes you can get away with just replaceing one of them but I wouldn't recommend it. They are not too expensive are 15.00 each once you replace them you have to get into the service mode and adjust the convergence.
