Hi marlonvig, what type of memory (PC3200? or PC2700) memory are you using? What type in which slot?

The decription (In you're manual), refering to you're memory can be confusing.
You're manual says you can use up to 1GB of
PC3200 DDR400MHz only in Slot 1.
If you add DDR400MHz into slot 2. The board will not support it. (weird)!
If you want to reach 2GB of memory. You must use PC2700 (DDR333)MHz. 2x1GB PC2700 = 1GB DIMMS in both DIMM 1 & 2. You're board does not support DDR2 type memory.

Need you're manual? Download it from this link. Click on it.

Wont to upgrade graphic card my p.c has 2gig max ram in it wonts should i upgrade to to preform its best cheers mike

Depends on what kind of hardware you have
-Memory- 2 gb ram is "ok" if you use windows XP but if you have Vista or Windows 7 you should have a minimum of 4gb ram.
-Processor- if you have a Dual core processor you are ok, if you have a p4 or p3 you dont want to waste money on a new graphics card because it will not help you get better games, your processor and memory will slow you down instead.
So my advice is, if you have a OK computer, go ahead with buying a new graphics card if you computer is old and slow, DONT buy a new card! put your money on +2gb ram instead (cheap, and gives you more benefits) or maybe buy an "upgrade package" with new motherboard-memory-processor.

Would like to replace motherboard on old HP Pavilion 7940 but have no idea what boards will work. This is just for fun would be great if could be an upgrade. Don't want to spend fortune.

the motherboard is the heart or core of the computer. if you change it you will be forced to change it fot the same model (no upgadre exist, well a new computer will be a upgrade).

so if yoy take of the moder board you will be left with the other componenst like; the dvd reader, ram memory, procesor, modem, cables, and whatever you computer had.

so even if yoy manage to get an android motherboard (is a moderboard that is made to put diferent brand of components in it) and put the components that were left of the pavilion, you will get the same performance as your old pavilion.

if you whant to increase the performance of that hp pavillion 7940. look for upgrades for the moder board of that computer. like a better memory module. or a better video card for better graphics. i dont think that the processor can be changed in some models they are fixed to the moder board or the mother board will not support any other kind of processor.

Hello again.I have an old home pc and I want to upgrade the cpu processor without changing motherboard.Wich is my best options?I want to know if I can to upgrade to PENTIUM 4 3.00 GHz.Also I want to put...

If new processor supports your old motherboard then you will upgrade system with your old motherboard.

If its not supported to new mother board then you have to buy new motherboard to upgrade your system.

Thanks.
Happy to help you.

I have an asus k8v-mx motherboard running only 512 mb of ram what type of ram would suit this mother board and could i fit a 1 x 2mb ram instead of 2 x 1mb?

Dear Sir,

*********** board is Asus old p4 Mother board. It supports maximum 1GB RAM of DDR 400(DDR1). According to your post your computer having only one 512 MB working RAM. If you want good purformance you can upgrade your computer by purchasing another 512MB DDR400 RAM and install it on another RAM slot.If your computer have only one working RAM slot, you can purchase 1GB DDR400 RAM & install it on older RAM place. I think it solves your problem.if you have any problem come back with more information. I will try to assist you more accurately.

good luck

Re upgrade, memory, speed etc?

Upgrade the RAM/Memory? Yes to the maximum *********** Bord will support.

Upgrade the Processor for more speed on a 9 year old Mother Board? Probably not worth the trouble.

I want to upgrade my HP BA 600 Mother Board`s RAM Capacity

Hello,
Most likely your MB is too old for this upgrade although there is a chance you could flash your bios (reprogram your computer's brain to accept the new memory providing hp has a flash for it).
here is a link for the latest bios flash for your computer, use at your own risk.

well first off it depends on what kind of mother board you have. if its an older board it might not handle an upgrade. the labur required to change a cpu or proseser is alot. memory is usulay fairly easy thare is normaly a panel underneith the laptop for the ram plate. but if you are not good at this sort of thin i recomend getting it profesinoly.
